“There’s really a good show to watch, you cunning Niuniu, you’re something else.” Zhao Erhu said with increasing delight, he’d had enough of these two over the years and was naturally very happy to see them in trouble.

Wei Fangcao had first instigated Zhao Lan to go and mess with Lin Yue, then sat at home waiting for news. However, the news she received was quite unexpected. “Brother Erhu, Brother Erhu, open up, I’ve come to see you!” When Wei Fangcao arrived at Zhao Erhu’s house, the yard door was closed. She called out a few times but got no answer, and upon knocking on the door, she found it was not locked, so she pushed it open and walked straight in without considering whether the owner was home.
“Stinky woman, what are you doing here, my house doesn’t welcome you.” The children were no strangers to Wei Fangcao, and none had a good impression of the shameless woman trying to seduce their father. Dalang was in the kitchen, tending the fire and preparing medicine for Lin Yue, and upon hearing Wei Fangcao’s voice, he quickly intercepted her in the yard to stop her from entering the house.
Lin Yue, who was sleeping groggily, seemed to hear someone calling outside. She got dressed and went out, only to see a flamboyantly dressed, coquettish woman confronting Dalang and the children. The children were firmly blocking the woman, not letting her in.
“Dalang, what’s going on, who is this woman?” Lin Yue took one look at Wei Fangcao and didn’t like what she saw, asking bluntly. Before Dalang could reply, a figure rushed in from outside.
“What are you doing here? Get to hell out now!” Zhao Erhu roared in anger. He hadn’t expected that he’d only left the house to buy some eggs, and Wei Fangcao, the shameless woman, had seized the opportunity. Seeing Lin Yue’s curious eyes, Zhao Erhu felt a little guilty. He hadn’t done anything to be ashamed of, but he was afraid that Lin Yue might believe the village gossip and think there was something between him and Wei Fangcao.
Wei Fangcao, however, seemed oblivious to Zhao Erhu’s disgust and attempts to drive her away, her tone unprecedentedly warm and full of smiles, “Brother Erhu, you’re back, I heard sister-in-law got hurt, so I came specially to see her. Also, the kids have grown taller, haven’t seen them in such a long time. Look, I even brought some pastries with me. Oh, Zhao Erhu, what are you doing!”
Zhao Erhu was well aware of Wei Fangcao’s thick-skinned nature; talking would do no good. He didn’t bother with words, simply picked Wei Fangcao up, along with the things she had brought, and tossed them out the door, to the cheers and applause of his children.
“Zhao Erhu, you jerk, scumbag, how dare you treat me like this, you ungrateful wretch! How did I treat you in the past, you heartless man!” Wei Fangcao was locked out and furiously cursed out loud.
Lin Yue watched, a bit dumbfounded, realizing that Zhao Erhu had such a cold side to him; it was indeed rare. But who exactly was this woman? From her tone, she couldn’t possibly be an old flame of Zhao Erhu’s, could she? Tsk, tsk, if that were true, it would be quite the melodrama.
