Seeing the blue prompt appear before him, Drayken couldn’t help but curl the corner of his lips.
This was exactly what he had expected and to think he’d earned it so easily.
Though receiving only half of the total Destiny Points felt a little underwhelming, it was still a reward, even though he hadn’t delivered the final blow to the Grandmaster.
Regardless, it was a sizable amount, and there were still two more Telekinetic Grandmasters remaining.
Drayken’s pupils gleamed at the thought. Naturally, he wouldn’t let go of the walking treasure troves those two old men represented.
’Maybe the Naga Princess could help me?’ Drayken glanced from the corner of his eyes.
His pupils flickered when he saw the frail and withered figure of the Naga Princess, her once-vibrant hair now graying, her body visibly shriveled. It was as if she had aged several decades in mere moments. Stunned, he asked:
“What happened to you?”
“We sacrifice our lifespan when we use the final curse,” the Naga Princess replied, her slitted pupils lingering on the frozen man.
“Oh?” Drayken raised a brow, intrigued. “How much lifespan does it take?”
His curiosity deepened. She had already used the Third Stage Curse at least once and judging by the toll it had taken, the consequences were likely more devastating than before.
“I’ve used it twice so far, Master,” the Naga Princess said softly. “The first time was on the man you took in from the coffin, it cost me one year of my lifespan. This time… it took thirty.”
Her words stunned Drayken.
“You mean to say… the cost multiplies each time? Thirty times more?” he asked, disbelief flickering in his eyes.
If that were true, then the third use would cost her nine hundred years of lifespan.
Wouldn’t that be the same as declaring her death in advance?
For a moment, Drayken couldn’t even begin to wrap his head around it.
“Eh, no,” the Naga Princess replied. “According to the records, this third stage curse can only be used by members of the royal family. One can use it five times in their lifetime and each time something will be taken but they wouldn’t die from it. But once it’s used a fifth time, they will die, no matter how healthy they are or what they do to resist it.”
Drayken listened carefully and nodded in understanding:
“Also, can you use the curse on multiple people at once, with a single use?”
“No,” the Naga Princess shook her head. “I can only target a single individual, and I must have a clear visual of the target as well.”
“I see, I see.” Drayken rubbed his chin, growing even more thoughtful for a moment.
“Follow us, then.”
He was about to walk forward when his spine cracked, and he nearly collapsed to his knees.
“Careful, little boy,” Eleanor said, reaching out to steady him.
But Drayken planted his feet firmly, bracing himself with sudden force. Then, slowly, he rose.
In the blink of an eye, and with visible progress, Eleanor’s eyes widened to their limits as she watched him recover completely, his body returning to an uninjured state and a complete recovery.
It was as if he hadn’t just been on the verge of death, his body moments away from bursting apart under the sheer Telekinetic Strength of the Grandmaster.
But now, here he stood, completely uninjured, without a single wound.
“H-How… how—?” Eleanor froze in place, then slowly closed her eyes, as if resigning herself to fate.
“What’s wrong?” Drayken looked at her playfully. “Why do you look so shocked all of a sudden?”
This was the power of his Rank 5 Dragon bloodline, combined with his Regeneration skill. The two together made him feel nearly immortal. Even if his limbs were severed, he was confident he could recover.
The combination of the two abilities was simply amazing.
And once his Dragon Rank rose again, his regenerative power would only grow stronger alongside it.
’Sigh… my only regret is that I still can’t upgrade my Regeneration and Body Strengthening any further.’
That was Drayken’s lingering frustration, he hadn’t yet met the requirements to level them up again.
Most of his skills were stuck in this phase as well, all of them didn’t have the requirements needed for a Level Up.
Still, he was more than satisfied. For now, he was a happy camper.
Eleanor stared at him with her deep crimson eyes. His playful grin made her fall silent for a moment before she finally spoke:
“Do you want to go back and attack the two Telekinetic Grandmasters?”
“You knew?” Drayken’s grin widened, basically confirming it.
“Then let’s go.” Without hesitation, Eleanor leapt into the air, her form twisting and expanding as she transformed into a dragon.
“Have some patience, Eleanor.” Drayken chuckled as he walked over to the frozen figure of the Telekinetic Grandmaster.
Without hesitation, he began looting everything of value. By the end of it, the old man was left in nothing but his underwear.
It turned out the man’s clothes were actually some of the best defensive gear available, no wonder Drayken’s Lightning Aura had barely scratched him, even after literally using the Lightning Aura until his bloodline was basically exhausted.
Muttering curses, Drayken gave the unconscious Grandmaster a few satisfying kicks to the ribs and bent his neck in another, blood didn’t drip down but he was already dead now.
Among the spoils, he also discovered several weapons forged from Liutinium.
Although they didn’t contain as much raw material as Zarek’s hammer, to his absolute astonishment, their use of Telekinetic Energy was far more refined and efficient.
This feeling didn’t come from Drayken himself, it came from Zarek, who remained frozen in time just like the old man before him.
“Oh well, it’s useless anyway.” Drayken tossed the weapon aside like a pile of garbage and turned his attention to the final item: a strange golden metallic badge.
He picked it up and fiddled with it for a while, turning it over in his hand, but couldn’t figure out its purpose.
Just as he was about to toss it aside too, voices suddenly echoed from within.
“Hey, Cyril, did you kill that brat already?”
“The dragons are going berserk, we can’t hold out much longer. We’ve already called for reinforcements, but they’re not here yet. Can you come help us?”
Drayken couldn’t contain his grin when he heard the voices.
Quickly, he wrapped the badge in some cloth to block the sound both ways, so their voices couldn’t be heard and the badge couldn’t pick up anything else and slipped it into his pocket.
Then he looked at the Naga Princess:
“Come with us.”
The Naga Princess flinched and spoke in an almost whisper, “Do I have to use it again?”
“Yeah, but don’t worry. After this, you only have to use it once more. Then I promise I won’t force you to use it again.” Drayken’s voice softened.
After all, she had already lost her limbs and even her youth. His rage for Zarek has completely cooled down.
“Okay, master, but I have one condition.”
“What is it?” he asked, frowning.
“Can you please protect our race after this?”
“Okay.”
Drayken agreed without hesitation. Dragons had many races under their protection, adding one more wouldn’t be a problem.
Of course, since they would be under his command, they’d receive greater benefits as well.
The Naga Princess’s eyes lit up, and she readily agreed.
Without further delay, both of them mounted Eleanor, who lifted off into the sky. Meanwhile, the Naga Princess began preparing her curse ready to use at a time, once it was brewed it had to be used quickly or it wouldn’t work, so the timing should be perfect for it.
