“If Bryan isn’t well, would that make you feel okay? Don’t act tough with me. Life must go on, yes, but you can share your feelings with me. If you’re sad, I’ll be by your side to comfort you. If you need to cry, just cry,” Ruby said gently, running her fingers through Eileen’s hair. “You’ve lost so much weight. Can you really just let everything go?”
Eileen couldn’t simply let go, but she couldn’t make herself feel aggrieved either. She had just learned to cope in her own way.
Life appeared to have returned to normal. In the morning, Eileen had Ruby watch Gabriela while she drove to Freguson Group’s headquarters.
At a red light, the bright morning sun flooded the car. She pressed the brake, put on her sunglasses, and answered a call from Raymond.
Raymond was temporarily overseeing the project in the village. He planned to return once construction began.
He provided an update on the project.
“Got it. Find out which hospital Bryan is in. It’s important to obtain his health report to understand what’s wrong with him,” Eileen instructed.
Even if Bryan had lost a leg and been truly handicapped, he wouldn’t have feigned amnesia to make her this angry.
Thus, the situation might be more grave and troubling than she had initially believed.
However, from the start, Jacob and Josue had withheld information from her, forcing her to investigate on her own.
“Mr. Dawson has returned?” Raymond asked, surprised. “Then why am I still here?”
Raymond had agreed to stay in the village because Bryan was there. Regardless of Bryan’s memory loss, Raymond had wanted to keep Bryan company.

“Even if he hadn’t returned, you wouldn’t be able to help him much by being by his side anyway,” Eileen said, ending the call abruptly, her tone tinged with frustration.
Upon arriving at Freguson Group, Eileen attended a six-hour meeting.
Although she had initiated this project for Bryan, it wasn’t an uninformed investment. The potential for profit was clear, so Benjamin presented the investigation results, which received unanimous approval from all shareholders.
Detailed follow-up actions were collectively agreed upon, and the meeting adjourned.
As Eileen walked out of the meeting room, she checked her phone and found a message from Raymond.
Raymond had located Bryan’s hospital and learned that a renowned international doctor had arrived the previous night specifically to oversee Bryan’s case. However, Bryan’s medical condition was complex.
Aside from Bryan and his doctor, only Josue and Jacob knew the details. Raymond had been unable to uncover more.
Eileen pressed her lips together upon hearing this and immediately called Phoebe.
“You finally remember to call me?” Phoebe’s voice was laced with dissatisfaction. “It’s bad enough you don’t talk to me, but Bryan even took Jacob away. Jacob missed our son’s hundred-day celebration.”
“That’s why I’m calling to apologize. But shouldn’t you hold Jacob accountable? Do you want to get even with him now?” Eileen replied.
