“Quick, call the doctor and get this tested!”
Josue, his voice shaking, retrieved the vial from the small box.
He had never imagined that the transparent liquid inside could appear so beautiful.
A doctor swiftly took the vial, and Josue handed a substantial amount of money to the technician.
After a moment of contemplation, Josue decided not to inform Eileen and Bryan about this immediately.
This small wooden box represented their hope, but its contents remained a mystery. What if Travis had deceived them?
It was better to hold on to hope than face the potential disappointment.
If the research outcome was positive, he would inform Bryan and Eileen right away. But if it proved to be of no value, there was no reason to bring it up.
After some time, Josue returned to the ward and saw Bryan and Eileen sitting by the window, watching the sunset together.
“The infusion is almost done,” Josue said as he approached to replace Bryan’s medication. “When we were administering the drip, you knew to keep an eye on it. But now that Eileen is here, all your attention is on her, and you didn’t even keep an eye on your drip.”
He didn’t hesitate to accuse Bryan in front of Eileen.
Eileen simply smiled and remained silent, while Bryan lounged in his chair, seemingly indifferent to Josue’s remarks.

Denise used her discomfort as an excuse to avoid helping. After Eileen had refused her request, Denise returned to the restaurant, arriving after the lunchtime rush had ended.
Without a word, she donned an apron and began wiping down the tables with a cloth.
After finishing her tasks, Judie approached Denise and asked, “How did it go? Did Eileen agree?”
“No,” Denise replied.
“Weren’t you so sure she would agree? And didn’t you say you’d cause a scene if she refused? What’s the issue?” Seeing Denise’s downcast expression, Judie sensed something was off. “What does she have over you?”
Denise paused for a moment before speaking. “I’m just worried that Roderick might find out about this.”
“I’ve told you I’ll keep it a secret from Roderick!” Judie, consumed with thoughts of the villa, had hoped Denise would bring good news today. Her hopes were clearly dashed now.
Her frustration was evident as she said icily, “Well, can you do this or not? Don’t just talk and do nothing!”
As she spoke, she flicked the duster from Denise’s hand. “Stop dusting the table and focus on figuring this out!”
Denise’s hand stung from the contact, and a red mark bloomed across her skin. Yet, she could only say, “I’m concerned that if we push Eileen too far, she’ll retaliate. We won’t be able to handle it.”
