It will be yours in the future.” Leyla pulled Eileen inside and retrieved a wooden box from beneath the bed. Inside the box were the Vazquez family’s property deeds and VQ Group shares.
Leyla said, “I once said that it didn’t matter whether we retained control of VQ Group, as long as your mother’s body could be laid to rest in our family’s cemetery. But deep down, I wanted more. Now, I want you to take back VQ Group. It’s rightfully yours, and you’re capable of running it. Conroy doesn’t deserve the company.”
After a pause, she continued, “Gianna is a proud and entitled woman, and she’s accustomed to the life of a rich woman. She won’t let Conroy leave VQ Group without a fight. So, you should go…”
“Back to VQ Group tomorrow morning and face the challenge. I’m unable to help you with this fight, so you’ll have to do this on your own.”
No sooner had she spoken than Bryan entered with Gabriela in his arms. She whispered, “Men are unpredictable, so you must be cautious.”
Eileen blinked at her grandmother, struck speechless.
Leyla’s hearing wasn’t great, so she was used to speaking loudly. Both Eileen and Bryan heard her clearly, even though she thought she was being quiet.
Bryan, who had been approaching them, suddenly stopped. He saw from Leyla’s bowed head that she wanted to whisper something more to Eileen. He put down Gabriela and pretended not to have heard anything.

“You’ve been staying the night with me for the past two days. Have you two been fighting? When you argue with him, don’t run to me. I don’t want to be displeased with you,” Leyla said, not wanting to offend anyone.
Now that her concerns had been alleviated, she was happy to talk about the past.
“Eileen, when you were just a baby, your mother would often cradle you in her arms and sleep beside me. She was too embarrassed to refuse Conroy directly, so she often used me as an excuse. That’s why Conroy has always claimed that I was the one who prevented your mother from being with him,” Leyla said, upset that she had to take the blame.
“I didn’t quarrel with Bryan, and he won’t dare blame you,” Eileen quickly said.

Eileen was amused by her words. Seeing that Leyla had summoned her servants to tidy up the courtyard where Gianna and Conroy used to live, she sensed that Leyla wasn’t sleepy at all. By her estimation, Leyla would not want to sleep until dawn.
Eileen turned to Bryan and asked, “What are you still doing standing there? Didn’t you hear my grandmother tell us to go to bed early?”
“How?” Bryan scooped up Gabriela and approached Eileen, gently pinching Gabriela’s arm as he said, “Gabriela has been wanting to snuggle up with Mommy and Daddy together for a while now.”
“I want to sleep with Daddy! Daddy wants to sleep with Mommy!” Gabriela babbled, stating exactly what was on Bryan’s mind.
