Eileen pouted, then asked, “When are we going home for lunch?”
This time, Bryan met her gaze. “Lunch at home? There’s no time for that. Yalif’s grandmother and the staff are there. Gabriela’s well taken care of, you’re staying right here with me.”
Eileen opened her mouth to argue but quickly realized Bryan had already thought of everything. She sighed in resignation.
Just then, an unwelcome distraction came.
As lunchtime approached, Raymond pushed open the door and entered with a message. “Conroy asked to send a message that he wants to meet you and has something very important to discuss, Ms. Eileen.”
“I’m busy.” Lying on the sofa with her legs crossed, Eileen gestured towards Bryan and added, “I’ll be costing him tens of thousands of dollars every minute I stay here.”
Raymond’s mouth twitched slightly. He hesitated to get involved in matters concerning Bryan’s family, managing to say, “Conroy mentioned that if you don’t meet him, he’ll keep visiting until you do.”
It was clearly still a hassle. Without a word, Eileen simply sat up and leaned her head against the back of the sofa, looking at Bryan. Bryan relaxed his grip on his pen and raised an eyebrow. “Since someone’s offering us a meal, I see no reason to refuse.”

“I’ll go back and reply to Conroy right now.” Raymond turned around and left to respond to Conroy.
The restaurant where they were meeting was not far from the VQ Group. When Eileen and Bryan arrived, Conroy had already been waiting for a while. Upon their arrival, Conroy pulled out chairs for them and signaled the waiter to hand them the menu.
“The meal is on me today, so feel free to order whatever you want,” Conroy said.
