He called Nate.
“Sierra has a younger brother. She cares about him, doesn’t she?”

“You want to use her brother? She’s holed up in the Wynn family estate. I can’t get to her. I’ve got to try something else. I can’t get her to come – but her brother just might.”
White’s voice was dark and menacing.
Nate thought for a moment. “Alright. I’ll handle it.”
But instead of handling it himself, Nate passed the job to Shane

When Shane received the “assignment,” he smiled.
After all this time, Sierra was falling back into his hands.
He stayed in the study a long time, thinking everything through. Then, he called Johnathan.
When Sierra received a call from Dickson, she didn’t think much of it and went straight over.
It had been a while since the two siblings had eaten together.
Dickson had said he had something important to share. Sierra assumed he’d made a breakthrough – he’d been training under Mateo lately. Mateo had even praised his talent, saying that while Dicksonwasn’tthebest with networks, his hands–on abilities were top–notch far better thanMateo’s.

But as soon as she entered the room, she lost consciousness. When she woke again, two hourshadpassed.
Her neck ached faintly.
She reached up to touch it, only to feel the sharp sting of pain.
Just then, Dickson rushed in.
“You okay? What happened? You suddenly passed out! I just called Johnathan.”
“I’m fine,” Sierra reassured him. “Probably just haven’t been resting well lately.”
Johnathan arrived quickly and whisked Sierra away. Dickson followed right behind.
After they left, a man stepped out from the shadows of the private room.
It was Shane.
He dialed Nate.
“It’s done.”
The whole operation had been livestreamed – Nate saw everything.
He spoke with approval.
“Mr. Shane really is sharp.”
Shane hadn’t used threats or force. Just a bit of well–timed manipulation had sealed the deal.
He’d hacked into Dickson’s phone, mimicked his tone to message Sierra, then used Sierra’s phone to reply to Dickson. The time gap was barely three hours. Neither of them had suspected a thing.
Far cleaner than kidnapping Dickson – and much lower risk.
At Nate’s praise, Shane curled his lips into a smirk.
“Not much choice. Johnathan’s too smart and has too much power. If we actually kidnapped someone, not only would we never see Sierra we’d down with it.”

Nate was pleased. He wasn’t a lunatic like White – he had no intention of going head–to–head with Johnathan.
“By the way,” Shane asked, “what does that chip we installed do?”
Nate looked at him without replying.
Shane raised an eyebrow, smirking. “What, I’m not allowed to know? Or do you think I’m notqualified?”
Seeing he was displeased, Nate reconsidered.
“You misunderstood, Mr. Shane. Now that you’ve joined us, of course you can know.

“That’s our latest chip. Aside from brain optimization, it can also manipulate emotionalresponses.
Shane lifted a brow, clearly impressed.
“Now that’s a handy little thing.”
“Of course,” Nate said proudly.
