Halsey couldn’t believe Shaun wanted her to call him “honey” again.
He already messed with her once back in the pharmacy-why was he still trying to tease her?
Halsey refused. “I’m not calling you that!”
Shaun didn’t push. He just looked at her and said calmly, “Then take the pill.”
“I’m not taking it! You can give up on that!” Halsey snapped.
Shaun didn’t argue. He simply sat back in his seat and started driving.
It wasn’t long before Halsey noticed something was off. This wasn’t the way back to her house. Where was he taking her?
“Where are we going?”
Shaun kept his eyes on the road. “Since you won’t take the pill, there’s a chance you might be pregnant. That means I have to keep you close. I’ve got a meeting soon, so I’m taking you to my company.”
Take her to his company?

“If you won’t take the pill, then there’s a possibility you’re carrying my child. I’ll need to keep an eye on you. And if I find out you

Halsey’s heart skipped a beat as she cut him off, “You’ll what? Are you going to make me get rid of it?”
She didn’t mean to ask that, but she was scared. She had secretly gotten pregnant with his baby. Right now, she could still hide it, but once the baby was born, there was no way he wouldn’t find out
She needed to know how he really felt about the idea of a child.
Shaun raised an eyebrow and didn’t answer her directly. Instead, he asked, “What do you think I’d do?”
“I-I don’t know,” she muttered.
That was the problem-she had no idea. If she did, she wouldn’t be this anxious.
“Please just tell me. If I really am pregnant, what would you do?” Halsey said seriously.
Shaun curved his lips into a faint smile. “You really want to know?”
Halsey nodded. “I do.”
“I would…” Shaun drawled, dragging out the moment.
Halsey leaned in a little, hanging on his words.
Shaun smirked. “Get pregnant first, and you’ll find out.”
“What?” Halsey stared at him, dumbfounded.
He grinned like a devil. “Once you’re pregnant, you’ll know exactly what I’ll do.”
She was furious. Without thinking, she reached out and gave his arm a hard pinch.
Shaun chuckled, clearly amused. “Didn’t even hurt,”

If he weren’t driving, Halsey definitely would’ve punched him right then and there.
Half an hour later, the luxury car pulled up outside his office building. Shaun got out and walked over to her side, opening the passenger door.
“Time to get out.”
“I’m not going in,” Halsey said, not budging.
“Why not? It’s not like you haven’t been here before.”
“Do you really have to humiliate me like this? We already broke up. What right do I have to walk into your company now? You’ve got a new girlfriend. Let’s just stop this.”
Shaun didn’t argue. He leaned down and picked her up straight from the seat.
Halsey froze. “Put me down!”
“If you won’t get out on your own, I’ll carry you,” he said with a smile. “Come on.”
And just like that, Shaun carried her into the building.
Halsey struggled in his arms. “Let me go! What are you doing?!”
Her heart was racing. When they were still dating, something like this might’ve felt sweet. But now, it was just awkward.
Her struggling didn’t faze him at all. Shaun held her firmly, his strong arms locked around her as he strode confidently into the
company.
