Letters to the Sea and the Coconut Tree

Xingtian asked her with a laugh: “So, what type of books do you like to read? You can take them if you find any here.”

“Really?” An Ruo asked, delighted.

She indeed wanted to read more to understand more of the things she had forgotten.

“Of course, feel free to pick any of these books.” The man gestured invitingly, even if she took all the books here, he wouldn’t mind.

An Ruo started selecting seriously, luckily she recognized the words and knew their meanings. If she had forgotten even those, she would have truly become someone who understood nothing.

While she was picking books, a servant called Xingtian outside. He told her he would be leaving for a while and An Ruo let him go, saying she didn’t need his attention.

She chose several books and placed them on the desk, then started to survey his room.

There was nothing particularly special in his bedroom, not even a photo. An Ruo pouted, could it be that neither of them liked placing things in their bedrooms?

Casually flipping through his desk items, she tried to pull open a drawer and found a notebook with a hard cover inside.

An Ruo took it and opened it, thinking if it was his diary she would put it back immediately. She opened the first page, finding it was a sketchbook instead.

Inside, there was a drawing of the sea and seagulls.

The drawing was casually sketched with a pen, simple yet quite nice, and seemed to have words written on the back.

She flipped the first page and softly read the words written on it.

“A letter to the sea:

Sea, if I didn’t have you, where would the seagulls call home? Sea, if you weren’t here, I wouldn’t have to worry about falling into the sea and drowning someday.”

An Ruo frowned suspiciously, the handwriting matched that of the words in the book “Secret Garden.”

Was it written by her?

Indeed, she had drawn all of them. Back then, she drew Tang Yuchen and Kangkang every day, which annoyed him. Later, she stopped drawing things that upset him and started drawing whatever dull things she could see.

He knew she was terribly bored, so he didn’t stop her, as these drawings meant nothing anyway.

After using hypnotism on her, he confiscated the sketchbook and read the letters she wrote to the sea, coconut tree, and other things every night.
