Shaun couldn’t believe Sierra actually left!
He let out a cold laugh.
Warren said to him, “Let’s head back to the office and deal with this.”
Shaun nodded. “Let’s go.”
The crowd of reporters still surged forward. “Mr. Lane, any comments? Mr. Lane!”
Surrounded by Warren and the men in black, Shaun strode toward the door. “I have nothing to say. Lane Corporation’s legal team will handle this.”
He got into a luxury car outside and sped off.
Back at the company, Martin hurried over. “The news from the club has already been leaked. Everyone knows about your scandal with Sierra!”
Warren slammed his hand on the desk. “How did this spread so fast? Shaun, what’s really going on between you and that Sierra?
He added sharply, “Don’t tell me you actually hooked up with her! Your wedding with Ms. Mallin is coming up, and she’s carrying your child. You can’t be messing around.”
Warren used to dislike Halsey, but now, he was firmly on her side.
Shaun glanced at him. “Do you think something actually happened between me and her?”
Warren panicked. “No, that’s not what I meant! Can you tell us what happened?”
“Nothing happened. She used the excuse of delivering hangover soup to get in here. Then she started stripping and trying to seduce me. I didn’t fall for it, so she hurt herself and claimed I tried to assault her,” Shaun explained.
“Damn!” Warren exploded. “She has some nerve, setting her sights on you like that.”
Shaun continued, “She knew the media were in the club and deliberately tried to expose me in front of them, to throw me into the spotlight.”
“She’s a vicious one. But now that this has blown up, we have to handle it properly, or Lane Corporation’s stock will definitely plummet tomorrow. Billions in market value could vanish in an instant,” Martin said grimly.
Shaun nodded. “Get the legal team ready. I’m suing Sierra.”
Martin saluted. “Okay. I’m on it.”
After Martin left, Warren said, “Don’t tell Ms. Mallin about this yet. We don’t want to stress her or the baby.”
Shaun nodded, not wanting Halsey to worry.
At that moment, a cheerful ringtone sounded. Shaun picked up his phone and saw Halsey calling,
He made a shushing gesture to Warren and answered, “Hey, honey.”
Hearing that sickeningly sweet tone, Warren immediately went to the couch to enjoy his coffee.
“You’re still up?” Shaun asked Halsey.
Halsey was at home in her villa, just finishing a bath after working on some designs, when she noticed Shaun wasn’t home yet. It was already nine, and he rarely stayed out this late.
Halsey lay on her bed, holding the phone. “Are you still at dinner? It’s nine. When are you coming home?”
Hearing her voice, Shaun felt his bad mood disappear instantly. Honestly, he hadn’t taken that disgusting Sierra seriously, but just being tangled up by her earlier had put him in a lousy mood.
“I might have to stay at the office and work late tonight,” he said.
