Chapter 17 I’ll Beat You Until You Apologize

“Leander?” Yvette’s gaze swept over the corner of the gym, and there, standing calmly with an air of indifference was none other than Leander. She hadn’t expected to see him here, watching the martial arts club’s sparring session with the karate team.
“It really is him!” Ginny also spotted Leander. She exchanged a glance with Yvette, both sensing what the other was thinking.
“Do you think if Leander went up against Colton Price, he could win?” Ginny asked. She vividly remembered how Leander had effortlessly taken down four armed thugs at the cafe the day before. One of them had even knocked out Shiloh with a single blow. If he could do that, he probably had a decent shot against Colton.
“I don’t know if he’d win, but it would definitely be close. But judging by his expression, it doesn’t seem like he plans to intervene,” Yvette observed, watching Leander closely. She felt a pang
of guilt, but Leander appeared completely unfazed, his eyes still fixed on the scene before him, seemingly unaware of her presence.
Yvette was right–Leander had no intention of stepping in. To him, whether it was Victor or Colton who had just humiliated the martial arts club, they were merely playing childish games. He wasn’t interested in who won or lost; he was only here waiting for Madeline.
“I came here hoping to learn a few cool moves from Victor and his team, but seeing how they can’t even handle the karate team, this is just disappointing,” Liam muttered bitterly, clearly let down by the martial arts club’s poor performance.
“It’s not that martial arts is weaker than karate–it’s just that Victor and his guys aren’t as skilled as their opponents,” Leander said with a light smile. In his view, there was no “strongest martial art,” only the strongest individuals.
Liam nodded, still not fully understanding, but Jade’s face darkened. Leander’s earlier prediction had already embarrassed her, and now hearing him speak again irritated her even
more.
“Even if Victor and his team lost to the karate squad, it’s not your place to comment, is it? You’re acting like you’d win if you went up there!” she snapped, her dislike for Leander growing with every passing second. At first, Leander didn’t plan on engaging with Jade, but her repeated provocations tested his patience. His eyes narrowed, a cold light flashing in them as he glanced at her. Jade suddenly felt a shiver run down her spine as if a wild beast had locked its gaze on her. She froze, unable to speak or meet his eyes.

again. Seeing the students of Ravenridge Senior High fuming in silence only made him more arrogant.
“Hmph, so this is the best Ravenridge Senior High’s martial arts club can offer? You should all focus on your studies instead!” Colton sneered before leaping into the air, delivering a powerful spinning kick that knocked down the banner Madeline had just finished hanging.
The force of his kick pulled down the banner’s ropes, and in doing so, the ropes caught onto Madeline, who was working nearby with other members of the arts committee.
“Ah!” Madeline, standing on a small ladder, suddenly lost her balance as the rope pulled her sideways, sending her tumbling down.
Several members of the arts committee saw what was happening and rushed to try and catch her, but they were too far away. As Madeline, the beloved campus beauty, plummeted toward the ground, the gym was filled with gasps of horror.
Just as she was about to hit the floor, a strong arm shot out from the side, catching her at the last moment.
In a daze, Madeline turned her head and saw Leander’s handsome face smiling at her.
“Leander!” she exclaimed with joy, a warm feeling of relief washing over her. It was just like when they were kids–whenever she was in trouble, Leander was always there to catch her.
“You okay?” Leander asked with a soft smile, helping her regain her balance before gently releasing her.
Madeline nodded, standing beside Leander with a shy, almost bashful demeanor.
“Hmph, this is boring. Let’s go there’s nothing worth seeing at Ravenridge Senior High,” Colton said arrogantly, paying no attention to what had just happened. Victor, still on the ground, punched the floor in frustration. The gap between their abilities was too vast–he knew that even if they fought again, he wouldn’t last more than ten seconds.
The students of Ravenridge clenched their teeth in anger, but they could only watch helplessly as Colton and his team walked away. The martial arts club’s strongest fighters had been effortlessly defeated. Who could step up to restore their school’s honor?
“Stop right there!” A calm voice rang out from behind just as Colton neared the exit.
“Huh?” Colton turned around, surprised to see a tall, handsome young man walking toward
him.

Leander approached Colton with an air of complete indifference. “Before you leave, you owe her an apology,” he said, pointing to Madeline. His tone was calm yet carried an unmistakable. authority that made Colton hesitate.
“An apology?” Colton couldn’t believe his ears. He knew that his kick had nearly caused Madeline to fall, but his arrogance wouldn’t allow him to admit fault. Even if he were in the wrong, apologizing was beneath him.
“Are you trying to tell me what to do?” He tilted his head, a mocking grin spreading across his face, making little of Leander. Victor and Shiloh were well–known figures at Ravenridge, but this kid? He was nobody. “I’ve never apologized to anyone in my life. What makes you think I’ll
start now? ”
Colton glanced at Madeline, noticing her striking beauty, and it became clear to him. He looked at Leander with disdain.

“You seem to think that having a strong punch means you can do whatever you want without consequences,” Leander said, his voice cutting through the air before Colton could take another step. “Just because you’ve learned a little karate, you think that makes you unbeatable. But your skills? They’re laughable at best p>
Leander’s eyes gleamed with a cold intensity as his words dripped with dominance. “If you refuse to apologize, I’ll beat you until you do p>
