Yvette, Madeline, and Ginny reached Tobias‘ table and were about to sit when a voice called out from behind.

They turned to see Leander, now wearing a server’s uniform, walking toward them.

Madeline’s eyes flickered with emotion. Upset and distress were rising within her, though she suppressed them. She knew Leander had always stood up for her. Just earlier today at the martial arts club, when she had nearly tripped, he had beaten up the entire karate team, forcing their captain to apologize to her.
Even so, she did not dare hope for his protection. She even wished he would leave without saying a word. After all, they were not dealing with a student but Tobias, the feared
underground boss of Ravenridge’s North District. She understood the terrible consequences of offending someone like him.
Leander, with an indifferent tone, pointed toward Tobias and asked, “Madeline, do you know him p>
Madeline hesitated for a moment, but in the end, she shook her head. She never lied to Leander.
“Then, why are you sitting with him?” Leander’s voice remained calm, but there was a sharp glint in his eyes.
Madeline had no response. She loathed the idea of sitting with Tobias, but even Yvette, the daughter of a powerful businessman, had to comply. What choice did she have?
Leander saw her reluctance and realized the older server’s warning was true. Just as he was about to speak, Yvette grabbed his arm. She had only known Leander for a few days but had already seen him take down violent men with ease. She understood that, beneath his calm demeanor, Leander had a fiery temper. Madeline meant something to him, and seeing her in this situation would surely upset him.
However, Yvette knew that handling someone like Tobias with fists was suicidal. Tobias had hundreds of thugs on his side, and even if Leander was an exceptional fighter, he could not take on them all. Worse, one word from Tobias could ruin Leander’s life. He had no family and no connections. He would be crushed.
“Leander, he is a business partner of my father. I brought Madeline to share a drink. Do not concern yourself.” Her voice was cold, hoping Leander would back down.

Leander’s expression did not change. He looked at Yvette, his voice unwavering.
“I do not care about your business dealings, Yvette. Drink if you want to. Madeline is my family, and her problems are mine. I will handle them p>
His gaze shifted to Tobias, who was glaring darkly. His tone turned icy.
“If he is truly a business partner of your father’s, then fine. However, if you are forcing Madeline to sit with him out of fear, it will not happen. As long as I am here, no one will make her do what she does not want to p>
The moment he spoke, Yvette’s face paled. Leander had directly insulted Tobias, accusing him of forcing them to spend time with Tobias. While that was the truth, Tobias was a man who easily took offense over a simple statement.
Madeline and Ginny were frozen in shock. None of them had expected Leander to be so daring.
As they stood speechless, Tobias broke the silence with a mocking grin.
“You have guts, kid. I like that. Still, she is drinking with me tonight. What are you going to do about it p>
Leander did not flinch. He met Tobias‘ eyes, shaking his head.

The bar went dead silent.
Everyone, from Yvette to the bar patrons, stared at Leander in disbelief. How could a mere server insult Tobias, the feared ruler of the North District, by calling him “fatty“? Those who knew Tobias were horrified. He hated being called that, a cruel reminder of his past when people mocked him for his weight. No one had dared say it in years.
Yvette’s heart sank. Leander had gone too far. There was no turning back now. Tobias would not forgive him, and even Madeline might suffer for it.
Why does he never listen? Yvette thought in frustration.
Ginny, too, was furious, wanting to scold Leander for his recklessness.
Tobias‘ playful expression vanished, replaced by cold fury.
“She is your family?” he sneered. “Then, tonight, I will not only have her drink with me. I will also have her in my bed, and I will make sure you watch while I have my way with her all night

Madeline turned pale, and Yvette and Ginny were equally horrified.
Leander, though, remained unfazed. His eyes darkened.
“Do you know the consequences of what you just said?” he calmly asked.
Tobias leaned back, unfazed, as though he was untouchable. “ Consequences? I would love to see what you could possibly do p>
Without another word, Leander took a step forward.
Immediately, one of Tobias‘ bodyguards moved to block him, reaching out to grab him.
Crack!
The sharp sound of bones breaking filled the air, followed by the guard’s scream. In a flash, Leander had snapped his arm. The room gasped in shock.
Tobias‘ eyes narrowed. He had not expected Leander to be so skilled.
His remaining three bodyguards charged together, but within seconds, they were all on the floor. Two of them were unconscious, while one was writhing in pain. No one had even seen how it happened.
Now, Leander stood face–to–face with Tobias.
Tobias, surprised but calm, remained seated.
“You fight well, kid,” he remarked. “Still, this is not about strength. I control the North District. Kneel now, apologize, and maybe I will let Madeline go. You could even work for me p>

The table shattered, glass shards scattering everywhere. Tobias fell to the ground, unconscious, while his head profusely bled.
