Inside the rental apartment, Leander lounged on the couch, playing on his phone. Madeline, sitting beside him, kept pestering him to talk about his experiences over the years.
“Leander, come on, tell me! How did you get so good at playing the piano and singing with such power? You never used to sing at all p>
Leander’s performance on stage tonight was more than just impressive. It was an awe–inspiring, world–class act that left everyone speechless.
Madeline had always thought her own singing was at a high level, but after hearing Leander’s performance, she realized how far she still was from true mastery.
“Uh, I just picked it up over the years,” Leander nonchalantly answered. He had never formally studied music or singing. It was something he taught himself for fun. However, with his natural talent, he could quickly learn anything he wanted to and effortlessly master it. This rare ability was why he was able to rise to the top of martial arts, even without the advantages others had.
Madeline was clearly not satisfied with his vague response and was about to push him further when a knock at the door interrupted them.
“It is so late. Who could be visiting us? Maybe it is the landlord p>
Madeline, puzzled, stood up and opened the door.
Outside, a tall, slim man in a white suit stood smiling. He appeared to be in his thirties. Behind him were six men dressed in black, as if they were bodyguards.
The unexpected sight made Madeline instinctively step back, feeling a little nervous.
“Miss Sitwell, there is no need to be afraid p>
The man in the white suit gave her a polite smile and quickly introduced himself. “Let me introduce myself. I am Russell Kirk, the general manager of Glorious Entertainment. Here is my business card p>
Russell handed her a business card with both hands, his demeanor courteous and respectful.
Madeline relaxed a little at his polite introduction and accepted the card.
“Glorious Entertainment p>
She glanced at the card and then thought for a moment before realization struck her.
Glorious Entertainment was a new company that had recently opened in Ravenridge. Its major

shareholder was said to be Frankic, Ravenridge’s wealthiest man. Although the company did not yet have the legacy of larger companies like Imperial and Luminous, it was just as big and had tremendous potential. Despite being new, it had already attracted many top stars from the entertainment industry.
Unlike older companies, Glorious Entertainment focused on developing new talent. Madeline had once considered auditioning there, but she had been too afraid of failure. She also worried that, without connections, she would face too many challenges and might have to compromise her integrity. In the end, she decided against it.
Now, Glorious Entertainment had come to her.
“May I ask what this is about?” Madeline cautiously asked.

“Miss Sitwell, let me explain,” Russell said. “I am a former student of Ravenridge Senior High, so suppose you could call me your senior. I was at tonight’s ten–year anniversary celebration, and I was in the audience for your incredible performance.
“Besides being the general manager of Glorious Entertainment, I also work as a talent scout. I believe that with your looks and voice, you could easily become one of the top singers in the country, and perhaps even go international. That’s why I decided to come here myself to invite you to join Glorious Entertainment.
“I can assure you that if you agree to join us, we will write up a contract entirely to your liking. Not only that, but we will also spare no effort in promoting you and making you a star.
“Here is a copy of the contract for you to review. If you have any questions or concerns, we can discuss and modify it until you are completely satisfied p>
Russell’s face was filled with sincerity. “We truly hope you will join us p>
Madeline looked at the contract in front of her, stunned, hardly able to believe what was happening.
She had once dreamed that a moment like this would come, a day when a great opportunity would land right in her lap. However, as time passed, she realized such dreams only existed in stories.
Yet here it was. An actual opportunity was delivered right to her door.
“What is going on p>
Leander appeared just in time, pretending to be ignorant, and asked the question with curiosity.
Madeline snapped out of her daze and explained everything to him.

Leander put on an impressive act, pretending to be excited and surprised.
“Really, Madeline? An entertainment company is giving you an offert
He firmly patted her shoulder, then grew serious,
“Madeline, I always told you that good fortune would find its way to you one day. Becoming a singer is your dream, and now you are just one step away from it p>
Madeline looked down at the contract in her hand. She had quickly skimmed over it and saw that all the benefits seemed to favor her, with no real obligations or responsibilities. It was almost as if the contract was entirely one–sided in her favor.
Glorious Entertainment was a first–class company in both Ravenridge and Mornwick, with Frankie as its major shareholder. No other company would dare to use that name, which meant this was genuine.
She stared at the contract for a long moment before looking up.
“Mr. Kirk, I would love to join Glorious Entertainment, but I have one request. Can Leander also join the company? His musical talent is far beyond mine. Could you make him a celebrity,
too?
Russell was caught off guard by her request. He glanced at Leander, who gave a subtle shake of his head. Russell quickly understood.
“I am sorry, Miss Sitwell, but our company is not currently looking to recruit male artists. I apologize.
Madeline felt disappointed. She had really wanted Leander to join her.
“Do not worry about me, Madeline,” Leander said with a smile. “You have a dream, so you should chase it. Once you become famous, I will have a superstar sister p>
He took the pen from Russell and handed it to her.
“Go on, sign it p>
Madeline gazed into Leander’s calm eyes, then finally nodded and signed her name on the
contract.
She knew that opportunities like this had to be seized. If she let it slip by, it could be gone forever.
“Congratulations, Miss Sitwell, on joining Glorious Entertainment. Our headquarters are in Ascendia. You can report there anytime, and our team will take care of everything for you p>

Madeline stood there with the contract still in hand as she stared in disbelief. Was she dreaming?
Leander leaned back on the couch, feeling pleased. He had prepared the path ahead for Madeline. All she needed to do was take that first step, and a bright future awaited her.

The next morning, Leander was still asleep. It was the weekend, and he had planned to sleep in, but he was woken by an urgent knock on his door.
“Leander, get up p>
Madeline’s voice called from outside, and Leander got up and opened the door.
“Leander, today is the weekend, and we planned to go to Water Paradise in Ascendia. Did you forget p>
Madeline’s tone was playful, with a hint of annoyance.
“Oh, right, I remember now. I will get ready and go with you p>
Leander nodded as he recalled their plans, then went to the bathroom to freshen up.
When he came back, there was someone else in the living room.
Yvette stood there, dressed in a crisp shirt and straight pants, wearing crystal heels. She looked elegant and refined, like a perfect neighbor.
When she saw Leander, her expression changed slightly, her eyes filled with a mix of emotions.
