Chapter 4
Chapter 4:
“Um, okay…” I decided to acknowledge his words, though I still wasn’t following him. I didn’t understand what he was trying to convey with this conversation.
“And I need you to be my collateral, to stay with them for those couple of months p>
“W-what p>
“Come on, Remy, help me out, will you? You’ll still have a place to stay when you’re done, and you get to keep working at Zephyr p>
My mind kept telling me that this was wrong, that I was getting myself into trouble. I should be leaving. But what would I do? Get a new place? Find a new bartending job in the middle of winter?
He must have seen my internal struggle, because he pulled me onto his lap and started caressing my thigh. “You can help me, Remy, can’t you p>
His soft voice made me give in, and I nodded. At least he had asked nicely. “Tell me how this will work? Are you involved with the mob p>
He laughed and told me I was being ridiculous. “No, just two very close friends of mine. You’ll stay at their apartment in the city, maybe do things while you’re there p>
“What do you mean, ‘do things’?” My heart started to race, and I told myself that this couldn’t be happening.
“Look, Remy, you’ve met them. We had dinner with them a few times already. Follow current novᴇls on.net
The Daniels p>
Fuck, I knew the Daniels. I never liked them. I always had to play nice when they came over to Jed’s. Jed would put me on his lap and let the Daniels watch as he kissed me deeply, making me moan when he parted my legs and stroked me in front of them. But I thought they were married.
They often talked about their wives and kids. What the hell?
“Wait, you’re whoring me out?” I accused Jed, my voice trembling, but he just laughed at me.
“Wake up, Remy.

This is the world we’re living in. You let me fuck you, and in exchange, I let you live in my apartment rent-free, shared my meals with you, and even gave you a monthly salary for working at my club p>
My cheeks flushed. I hadn’t expected him to list it all out like that, but he did. He clearly knew what was expected of him, but instead of being angry, he was gentle with me.
That made me feel even dirtier. How had I ended up at this point?
“Tomorrow, you’ll go and stay with them.
The deal is for two months. You’ll still work at Zephyr, do your daily activities, and your runs, but at the end of the day, you’ll come back to them instead of to me. Remy, look at me—only for two months, baby.” His thumb caressed my back, and his kisses lingered on my neck.
He took me to the shower, where he cleaned my body and fucked me hard, telling me he was going to miss me while my mind struggled to comprehend how the hell he had managed to convince me to take the deal with the Daniels.
Maybe it was the desperation in me, but when the Daniels arrived, I willingly went with them. I even gave Jed a kiss, which made him smile and tell me he couldn’t wait to have me back.
Yeah, right. I bet he already had several guys lined up for the next two months. “Suck it up, Remy, you’re still better than those homeless hookers,” I told myself, trying to give myself a pep talk, wishing this part of my life was already over.
“You look like you’re being handed a life sentence,” the blond-haired man, Lance, said, eyeing my dreaded expression.
