Chapter 75
Chapter 75:
When we sat down, I was distracted by a strikingly handsome young man seated next to me. He was devilishly attractive, with an attitude to match. He caught my attention the moment he rolled his eyes and muttered to himself, clearly displeased with the event.
Cute.
“I take it you’re not a fan of this kind of gathering?” I asked.
“No,” he replied, still looking around. “My friend dragged me here. He had an extra ticket and was sure I’d enjoy it p>
His smile grew wider as he glanced at me. I noticed a subtle blush creep up his face before he quickly tried to hide it behind his glass, taking a large gulp of his colorful drink.
Jacqueline, on the other hand, was lost in her own thoughts, as usual. As long as she made it look like we were a couple, I didn’t care about being all cuddly the whole night. Appearances were what mattered.
“Aren’t you going to introduce me to your date?” he asked, his disappointment obvious when his gaze landed on Jacqueline. It didn’t take long for me to catch his drift—he was definitely interested.
“Why? Do you want to get to know her better?” I teased, sensing he was on the prowl.
“I… I thought…” he started, flustered.
“Yeah, you better keep that thought to yourself,” I said with a grin. “She’s my fake date. I’ve got an image to maintain p>
I decided to be honest with the handsome stranger. Maybe, just maybe, this night wouldn’t be so boring after all.
“Oh… okay…” he responded, clearly surprised but intrigued.
The way his face showed that realization was too cute, and I couldn’t help but laugh softly. I didn’t want to appear too flirty, though that was exactly what I was going for—only with him.
There was something about this man that made me want to get to know him better.
“Jacqueline, darling, do you mind?” I asked, my voice smooth as I came up with an excuse.
I decided to go with the line that my new friend had invited me to smoke a cigar. It was a weak excuse, and she probably knew I’d be doing more than just enjoying a well-rolled cigar.
“Of course, Ghazi,” she replied, her smile bright. “I’ll be here when you get back.” She let me kiss her lightly, and I whispered my thanks as I pulled away. Jacqueline was the perfect escort. She never questioned me when I left her alone with another guy for some private time. Discreet, never nosy.
That was why I kept using her services again and again.
“She knew?” The man, who had introduced himself as Remy, whispered, his voice full of curiosity as I subtly guided him towards the farthest men’s room.
It warmed me that he trusted me enough to follow, ready to explore this little escapade.
“She knew,” I responded, giving him a small smile. “She’ll be there when I get back.” I pushed him into the small room and locked the door behind us, ensuring no one saw us.
“Ghazi,” he murmured, his voice shaky.
“Mmm hmm,” I hummed, smiling as I noticed him back away, almost startled by how quickly I’d cornered him. Alone. In the bathroom. Ready to take what I wanted.
The feeling hit me unexpectedly. It was the same urgent need I hadn’t felt in a while, a feeling Oscar used to provoke in me. Fuck. I shook my head, trying to push my ex from my thoughts.
“I…we…” Remy stuttered, as if unsure what to say, but I didn’t give him time to think. I grabbed his waist and leaned in for a kiss, and he melted into my arms instantly. It was strange, but it felt like home.
