Chapter 211
Chapter 211:
“Everything will be okay, baby,” he said, wrapping his arm around my shoulder and guiding me toward his entourage.
There were two cars, including ours, which held our bags inside. The source of thɪs content is
The windows were tinted, and I was escorted to the backseat, followed by Zal. Chip and Bear were in the front, and the divider was already up between us.
“I know things will be okay. But honestly, I don’t care as long as I’m with you. I know you’ll keep me safe. I love you p>
“And I love you more,” Zal kissed my temple before gently tucking me against his chest. I sighed, snuggling into his side, and soon my eyes grew heavy as I drifted off to sleep. Between his familiar scent and the warmth of his body, the combination was soothing.
It was dark when I felt the car stop, and everything fell quiet.
“Wake up, baby, we’re here p>
“Where are we?” I asked sleepily.
“Our honeymoon cottage.” Zal smirked before tilting my chin to make me look out my side of the passenger door.
The so-called cottage looked more like a luxurious villa, though it wasn’t situated on a beautiful beachside. Instead, the villa was nestled deep within the forest, hidden among the tall trees.
“Is it haunted?” I asked, eyeing the trees that surrounded it. Maybe I should be more worried about bears or other wild animals, but the darkness unsettled me. “Thank you p>
“My pleasure,” he said sweetly, taking my hand and entwining our fingers as he guided me up the stairs to the front of the house.
The forest house was dark yet beautiful. Inside, it was an open space, a perfectly designed vacation home that looked like it came straight out of a magazine.
“This is our safe house p>
“I take it you like it p>
“I’ll live here just fine, especially with you to warm up my nights.” I grinned just before someone cleared their throat behind us.
“Boss, we’re done setting up. We’ll check the perimeter and leave you to your privacy. We’ll be staying in the guest house by the pool out back.
The house is monitored via CCTV. I’ll send the live feed to our secure line. Your laptop and bags are in front of the master bedroom.
The fridge is fully stocked, and your dinner’s in the oven p>
I barely listened to Zal’s men, still captivated by the view outside the windows.
The elevated view of the dark forest from inside the house was stunning, and I was lost in it when I felt Zal’s front press against my back.
“Hungry p>
“Yeah, I’m starving p>
I put my arms around his shoulders as I turned to face him and kissed him slowly. “Show me where I can feast on my husband p>
