Chapter 216
Chapter 216: (END)
“Okay, so do you remember my visit to Zeke’s doctor a couple of days ago p>
“Yeah, you said he was fine and that you were taking him for his scheduled vaccinations and a check-up p>
“Well, yeah, but on our way there, we passed this nice lady and the cutest five-year-old girl p>
“No… what did you do?” Okay, I was ready for baby Zeke, but was Oscar going to adopt a toddler from the streets? Would I have the heart to say no to my beloved husband? I glared at my cousin, who looked like he was about to burst out laughing.
The man must’ve seen my face. Okay, maybe this was my penance for teasing him about his wannabe drug dealer son, but still…
“Fuck, okay, might as well get this over with. Will you come with me?” Oscar asked, not trying to take baby Zeke away from me. Maybe it was his way of getting me to calm down, since I sure as hell didn’t know what to do with myself—not with…
Another toddler was waiting at our front door.
The second the door opened, I was greeted by a beautiful woman with an adorable toddler by her side, holding two little puppies.
Fuck… a toddler and two puppies?
I could hear Ghazi trying to stifle his laughter with a cough, as though he was dealing with a bad case of the flu. I shot my cousin a glare, narrowing my eyes, mentally stabbing him with an invisible dagger.
This only made him burst into laughter before quickly excusing himself and hiding behind his husband, who seemed completely oblivious to my current predicament.
“Hi, please come in,” I heard my husband greet the woman, who was holding a box containing two puppies in one hand, and holding her toddler’s hand with the other.
“Hi, I’m so sorry to barge in like this. I know you said we could come anytime, but…” She glanced around, noticing that we had guests in the house. Yeah, Oscar had insisted that we move to his family home after his mother insisted that no grandchildren of hers should live so far away. And the woman was definitely not immune to baby Zeke’s charm.
Hearing voices in the foyer, Zeke’s grandmother hurried to greet the guests. “Oscar, who’s this?” She immediately switched to grandma mode when she saw the cute little toddler hiding behind her mother.
“Mom, this is Piper and her mom, Mrs. Graves.

The ones I told you about,” Oscar said, stepping back to introduce them to us.
“Please, call me Bea,” the mother replied, extending her hand.
“Here, Zal, let me take Zeke out of your arms. You should show our guests to the living room,” Oscar’s mom said, taking charge of the awkward introduction.
“Right,” my brain was still processing what I was facing when Oscar took the box of puppies from Bea’s hands and set it down on the floor. When the puppies started making noise, Ghazi’s son ran from the dining area toward us.
“Puppies! Puppies! Did you get me a puppy, Daddy?” The kid looked up at Ghazi with pleading eyes. Now, it was my turn to smirk. “Um p>
“So, Bea and Piper asked if we’d like a puppy. I did say yes. I hope you’re okay with it, and maybe Ghazi and Remy can take the other one?” Oscar asked, grinning at me. My husband knew I’d say yes to anything he asked.
Of course, I nodded and was slightly relieved that we didn’t have to take in the five-year-old too. Or was I?
Our family lunch quickly turned into a whirlwind of puppies and laughter. By the time everyone had gone home, Ghazi had left with his growing family—his son and a puppy in tow—while Oscar was entrusting our new puppy to Bear. I had laughed, but a part of me was concerned Bear might just toss the puppy out onto the streets. So, I gave a serious nod, well, as serious as I could manage with a giggling baby in my arms.
“Thank you,” Oscar said once we were settled in bed and our son was asleep in his nursery.
“For sneaking a puppy into our home?” I teased, letting him nuzzle closer, pressing his half-naked body against mine and deepening our kiss.
“Um… yes, that too, but mostly because you love me p>
“Aw… baby, you know you never have to thank me for that p>
“Tell me, when you saw Piper, you totally thought I was going to ask you to take her in, didn’t you p>
“What? Why would you think that p>
“Babe,” he kissed my chest and looked up at me. “I’ve known you for years now, and I can read you well enough by now.
Tell me I’m wrong p>
“Fine…” I slumped back onto my pillow, feeling a strange sense of disappointment.
“Wait… wait, you totally did, and you… oh, fuck me,” he added.
“I’m trying, Oscar. Believe me, I’m trying,” I grinned and pushed him so I was back on top of my sexy husband.
“No… no, I mean, you actually think Piper is going to be ours, and now you’re disappointed?” He studied my expression, and I tried to close my eyes, but he cupped my cheek and gently forced me to look at him.
“Fine…” I quipped, annoyed with myself.
“Oh, honey, I love you. I fucking love you so much! We’re totally getting a baby girl. I was thinking about surrogacy this time. I want a little you running around our house p>
“Wait, really? You… you want more kids p>
“Zal, babe, with you, I’d want more of everything.” He smiled, beaming with happiness, glowing.
“Damn it, now I really need to fuck you into the bed,” I growled, kissing him hard. “I love you, so fucking much.” I pushed him down, with every intention of loving him all night long.
I never imagined I’d find the one. During the first year we were married, I was certain that one day Oscar would get bored of me. But when he didn’t, I knew for sure that I would never let him go. Oscar was it. He’s my person.
The End.
