Chapter 375
Yvonne Fox climbed out.
She looked like a Valkyrie in designer sunglasses. Her blonde hair was whipped by the wind, lips painted a violent shade of crimson.
“Eliza!” Yvonne shouted, marching across the sidewalk with her phone raised like a weapon.
Not today. Eliza kept her voice level. “Nice parking job, Yvonne.”
“Shut up!” Yvonne got right in her face. She smelled of expensive perfume and gin. “I saw you come out of Damon’s building. What were you telling him? Were you spreading lies about me?”
“I didn’t mention you once,” Eliza said. “Believe it or not, you aren’t the center of the universe.”
“Liar!” Yvonne screamed. Passersby slowed to watch. “You’re trying to ruin my chances with Dallas! You’re telling everyone he’s still in love with you!”

“He divorced me, Yvonne,” Eliza said, stepping back. “He’s all yours. Enjoy the tulips.”
Yvonne faltered. “The tulips?”
“The ones he planted for you,” Eliza said, the hurt bleeding into her voice despite herself. “At the estate.”
Yvonne blinked. For a moment she looked genuinely confused, then masked it with a sneer. “Oh. Those. Yes. He adores me. But that doesn’t explain why his car was at your university yesterday.”
Eliza froze. “What?”
“Don’t play dumb!” Yvonne thrust her phone into Eliza’s face. It showed a blurry photo of a black sedan parked near the library. “That’s his ghost car — the one he uses for black ops. Why was he watching you?”
Eliza stared at the photo. It was the car she had seen.
“He… he wasn’t watching me,” Eliza said. “He hates me.”
“That’s what he says!” Yvonne snapped. “But he tracks your phone. I saw the app on his tablet. He’s obsessed with you!”
Eliza’s heart hammered against her ribs. Obsessed? Or controlling?
“Give me your phone!” Yvonne lunged for Eliza’s bag. “I want to see your texts!”
“Get off me!” Eliza grabbed the strap and pulled back.
“I’m a Fox! I do what I want!” Yvonne clawed at her arm.
“Hey!” Eliza yanked her arm away sharply — and a thick black envelope with gold calligraphy tumbled out of her tote bag and fluttered to the pavement.
Yvonne’s eyes dropped to it instantly. Heavy cardstock, embossed lettering.
Vincent Sharpe & Serena Q request the honor of your presence…
Stuck to the front was a sticky note in handwriting Eliza recognized immediately — Azalea’s bubbly script.
MANDATORY ATTENDANCE. PS: Dress code is ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’. Make him regret everything. Vinnie’s planning some stupid Truth or Dare game for the reception. Be ready to destroy him.
Yvonne’s face turned a blotchy red. “Why do you have one?” she shrieked. “Vinnie didn’t send me one! I’ve known him for ten years!”
Eliza bent down, picked up the invitation, and held it like a shield. A slow, cold smile spread across her face.
“Maybe the groom prefers guests who aren’t psychotic,” Eliza said.
“You bitch!” Yvonne raised her hand to strike.
“Ms. Fox!”
