Wearing a plain dress, the woman’s icy gaze pierced through Leander, her stunning beauty overshadowed by clear hostility.
She was also a member of The Demise, but her standing within the sect far surpassed Tyler’s, and her strength was beyond anything he could ever hope to match.
Tyler, who had been swiftly defeated by Leander earlier, reported the incident. Now, as the sect’s chief disciple, she had come to exact revenge.

Leander cast a quick glance her way, paused for a moment, and then turned toward his room, seeming to ignore her completely.
Her expression darkened again, and a trace of malice seeped into her voice. “I don’t care about your identity or your purpose in Tardide Valley! You harmed our disciple, so you must come with me to the sect and face the elders p>
She glanced at Leander as though he were inconsequential. After he attacked a disciple of The Demise, she believed it was her responsibility to capture him and bring him back, convinced that, although Leander had defeated Tyler, he wouldn’t be able to match her.
As the chief disciple, her strength surpassed that of ten Tylers, placing them in entirely separate
ranks.
“He approached my courtyard seeking trouble and ended up injured. That’s on him! If you want to take revenge for him, go ahead and try p>
Leander turned his back on her, his tone nonchalant.

The woman let out a soft snort, poised to make her move, Just then, urgent shouts echoed from a distance.

Sierra, who had been looking for trouble, hurried in their direction. She shot Leander a look filled with hatred before quickly grasping the young woman’s arm.

She was surprised. The sect would only dispatch Levi to summon her back at this hour if something serious had happened.
After a moment of thought, her hostility faded slightly, and she coldly remarked to Leander, “I know you’re also an inner strength martial practitioner. Tyler initiated the provocation, so he bears some of the blame. Still, you injured one of our disciples. If you don’t leave Tardide Valley by tonight, I will ensure you face the consequences! You have until tonight! It’s opportunity p>

“Leave Tardide Valley?” Leander chuckled softly, clearly dismissive. “I live by my own principles. No one can tell me what to do! I won’t be leaving Tardide Valley! If any of you have grievances, feel free to come at me p>
His tone was serene, yet the inner strength emanating from him was intensely powerful, leaving both Sierra and Brittany momentarily stunned.
However, after a fleeting look of shock, Brittany quickly composed herself and let out a chilling laugh.
“Given your refusal to understand your situation, you will suffer the consequences! If you remain here tomorrow, you’ll see The Demise’s methods in action p>
Having said that, she ignored Leander entirely and pulled Sierra with her.
He showed no signs of concern as he calmly walked back to his room.
What was The Demise, after all? In Mornwick, the Tarlyn Guild stood above all other sects. Having defeated their second–in–command, The Demise hardly intimidated him.
“Brittany, what if he stays here tomorrow p>
While they walked, Sierra glanced at Brittany, her voice filled with resentment.
At just ten years old, Brittany, her elder sister, was recognized by the elders of The Demise for her extraordinary talent and subsequently became the chief disciple. Aside from the Grand Elder and a few elite elders, she was seen as the strongest in the sect.

Brittany’s words sent a thrill through Sierra. She recognized the immense power of The Demise’s elders; to them, the lives of ordinary people are usually disregarded, not to mention their adversaries.
Even though Leander had defeated Tyler, she thought he wouldn’t stand a chance against the elders of The Demise. How could he possibly defend himself if they decided to intervene?
She looked forward to seeing his proud expression crushed!
As the two women approached the gate, they noticed a young man waiting for them.
Appearing to be around twenty, he was tall and charming, radiating a strong sense of self- confidence.
Upon seeing Brittany, admiration flickered in his eyes, and he quickly approached her.
“Brittany, today was meant to be your day to go home, but the sect has just received some urgent news. The elders instructed me to inform you right away p>
His gaze toward Brittany was filled with affection and admiration. They had grown close since she first joined the sect, and now that Brittany had blossomed into a striking beauty, he had secretly vowed to marry her one day.
Brittany avoided the young man’s gaze and responded coolly, “Levi, what happened p>
Levi Huxley, the young man, had already reached the mid–Grandmaster level at a young age, showcasing remarkable talent. He was nearly unrivaled, except for the top nine martial prodigies.
Her question caused him to freeze briefly, panic evident in his expression.
“It’s about the Shadow. He’s coming back p>

She reacted as though she had just heard the name of a deadly beast, her complexion turning pale.

Levi hesitated and shook his head. “The elders have placed the entire sect on high alert because of this p>
“Years ago, the Shadow was almost invincible in the sect, competing closely with the Grand Elder. After embracing dark magic, he has undeniably become more powerful. Even the Grand Elder has admitted that he might not be able to match The Shadow any longer! The Shadow’s return to Tardide Valley brings impending doom for both The Demise and the three major Escain clans p>
Brittany, as the chief disciple, felt her previous pride vanish, replaced entirely by fear. “If the Grand Elder can’t stand against the Shadow, then… what can we do p>
As Levi rubbed his arm, he spoke with a serious tone, “While traveling here, I overheard the Grand Elder discussing plans with the other four elders. They’re considering reaching out for external help p>
Brittany looked perplexed. Given the Shadow’s formidable strength, which was nearly unmatched below the Martial Sovereign level, defeating him would require at least a Martial Sovereign. However, those figures usually governed their own territories and rarely made public appearances.
Requesting help from a Martial Sovereign was exceptionally challenging.
Though she sensed little hope, Brittany couldn’t resist asking, “Who do the elders plan to reach out to for help p>
Levi slowly extended two fingers into the air.
“Across Mornwick, only two individuals can rival the Shadow. One of them is Tristan Wilson, the leader of the Tarlyn Guild. Ten years ago, he was already at the half–Sovereign level. With the Tarlyn Guild’s mastery of poison and hidden weaponry, he could match a Martial Sovereign. Now, he has likely made further advancements after ten years of seclusion. Confronting the Shadow should not be a challenge for him p>
Brittany’s expression brightened. She was fully aware of the esteemed reputation the Tarlyn Guild held.
“In that case, we should go to the Tarlyn Guild right away and request their leader’s help p>
Levi immediately shook his head in response.
“According to the Grand Elder, Tristan has been secluded for ten years, and his whereabouts are currently unclear. He is not at the Tarlyn Guild’s base making it nearly impossible for us to locate him p>
