But her words abruptly halted, and she fell silent.

“She came with a guy.” Mila’s voice grew softer.

Mila stood up nervously. “She gave a gift and is leaving. I’ll see if I can get her to talk to you.”
Daniel gripped her wrist and said, “Mila, it’s fine.”
Mila felt sorry for him. “But… you…”
