Leyla patted Eileen’s shoulder and whispered, “He also did a good job. You should give him some reward.”
Eileen was momentarily speechless.
Leyla had been taking good care of Gabriela. She turned and went back to looking at the fish with Gabriela. Gabriela loved the fish in the lake at the Vazquez Mansion, so Leyla had the servants bring some into the lake every day.
Leyla spoiled Gabriela, practically giving her anything she wanted.
Eileen, on the other hand, knew she had to comfort Bryan now. She walked over and ruffled his messy hair.
“You know, even with that injury, you’re still pretty hot.”
“Really?” Bryan asked, smoke curling from his lips and teasing her nose.
Eileen tried to pull away, but Bryan kept his cigarette between his teeth and held her waist.
“You were acting pretty cocky just now.”
“If I hadn’t acted like that, they would’ve taken me away,” Eileen replied, pushing against his chest. It was rock solid, even when she poked it.
Bryan said, “Don’t forget what you promised me.”
Eileen froze. She tried to backpedal. “The matter isn’t solved yet. I can’t do that now.”
Bryan could see through her intentions but didn’t call her out. “As long as you can deliver,” he said.
“You have my word!” Eileen quickly replied.

The car sped down the smooth highway, leaving a trail of dust in its wake.
Chana let out a heavy sigh once Eileen was out of sight.
“Ma’am, did she refuse?” Kole Brown, the driver, asked. He was the man who had visited the Vazquez Mansion before. When Eileen had agreed to meet with Chana, she had asked Kole and the others to wait outside, so Kole was unaware of what had transpired.
Chana shook her head. “It’s not that she’s unwilling. She’s just too bossy.”
“Bossy?” Kole was confused.
“The Vazquez family women are known for being shrewd businesswomen, but they also have a good reputation. I’ve never heard of a Vazquez woman being arrogant or bossy.”
“I’ve heard so much about Bryan being a business whiz in Onaland. He’s been through a lot, and I was honestly curious to meet him before. But after seeing him like that…” Chana couldn’t quite express her emotions. She furrowed her brow, lost in thought.
Eileen had definitely made an impression. But Bryan, looking like a total pushover? That image was going to be hard to shake.
What kind of man would just sit there and let his wife talk about marrying another guy right in front of him?
