Chapter 367
Benjamin offered a sheepish grin and shrugged. “Started after I left the Warren Group. Things were tough, and smoking seemed like a way to cope.”
Together, they stepped into the elevator, heading to the fifth floor, where they had booked a private room. As soon as they stepped out of the elevator, they saw Zola and Kian.
The two emerged from a private room at the end of the hallway on the right. Kian led the way with a calm demeanor, while Zola trailed behind him, her face pale and drawn.
Eileen was struck by how much Kian had changed. It had been so long since she had last seen him.
Once known for his immaculate appearance and charming smile, Kian now looked somewhat disheveled. The suit was from last year, and the trademark smile that usually graced his face had vanished. Instead, he wore a glum expression.
They paused a short distance away, and Benjamin looked noticeably uncomfortable. After all, he had once been Kian’s assistant, but now he had surpassed Kian in both stature and success.
After a brief pause, Benjamin gave a slight nod toward Kian and said, “Warren.”
“I’m honored,” Kian replied. His expression remained frosty as he continued, “Mr. Nash, I must admit, your current standing in the business world far exceeds my own. And, of course, Ms. Curtis.”
The way Kian addressed Eileen carried significant weight, hinting at more than just formal acknowledgment.
Eileen gave nothing away with her facial expression. She said, “What a coincidence! I have an appointment with clients; this is not a good time to catch up.”
She had nothing to say to Kian and Zola.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Zola staring intently at her. In Zola’s eyes, there was a look of jealousy and some other unfathomable emotion.
Eileen winked at Benjamin. Soon, they arrived at the room where the business lunch with the clients was scheduled to take place.
Kian stared coldly at the closed door.
“They are quite impressive, aren’t they?” Kian said with sarcasm as he turned around. “And so are you.”
Today marked the first time Kian resorted to using the indecent videos he had recorded to force her to join a group of men for a meal. The youngest individual present was nearly forty years old.
Now that the Warren Group was finished, the Warren family had fallen as well.
