“Eileen, Gabriela’s real name is Athena, isn’t it? I’m the one who named her,” he announced, his face glowing with pride and joy.
The sleepiness faded from Eileen’s eyes. She had indeed forgotten to tell Bryan that Gabriela’s real name was Athena Curtis. She had been known as Gabriela for so long that even Eileen, her mother, had forgotten about it.
“You named her? Did Josue ask you for your opinion back then?”
Bryan, overjoyed, embraced Eileen tightly. “I was the first to hold her after her birth, and I named her.”
The loss he had felt in recent months seemed somewhat redeemed.
Eileen wrapped her arms around his sturdy waist, slightly overwhelmed by his tight hug. “That’s wonderful. You named her, and she carries my last name. You don’t think that’s unfair, do you?”
She felt Bryan tense, then relax his hold slightly.
He released her, looked into her eyes for a long moment, and said, “No, as long as you are.”
Eileen found his words odd. Hadn’t he mentioned before that she would regret it?
She turned over, pulled up the covers, and drifted off to sleep. “I have a busy day tomorrow. I need to sleep now.”
“Has the Ferguson Group not stabilized yet?” Bryan finally showed interest in her work.
She answered, half-asleep, “Since Kaysen was imprisoned, those involved have calmed down. It should stabilize soon. Julio is planning to buy a club in the suburbs, so I need to prepare.”

“The Quimby family’s club?” Bryan, who kept up with business news daily, was familiar with all major and minor business shifts in Onaland.
“Yes,” Eileen responded, still groggy.
The next morning, Eileen woke up to find Bryan and Gabriela downstairs.
After washing up, Eileen went downstairs and saw Raymond gazing at Gabriela in the living room. His face lit up with joy and surprise.
“Ms. Curtis!” As Eileen came down, Raymond quickly greeted her, “She looks so much like you!”
Eileen smiled and nodded at him. “Really? I’ve heard that from quite a few people.”
“Hand it to her, and you’re free to go,” Bryan instructed Raymond casually, as he leaned against the baby’s play mat and circled Gabriela with his arm.
Raymond swiftly picked up documents from the table and handed them to Eileen. “Here is everything about the Quimby family’s club. I’ve done a thorough evaluation and investigation. Also, I have another piece of news: since the Apex Group restarted, they’re getting into entertainment venues too. Brandon is also interested in the Quimby club.”
