Her thoughts drifted back to what Stella had once mentioned about Travis’ father being a big shot. Eileen’s expression tightened with concern.

“Ms. Curtis, Mr. Dawson suggested that if you find the banquet dull, you might enjoy a chat,” Raymond said, offering her the phone, which was already on a video call. Gabriela’s face appeared on the screen.
Eileen was momentarily taken aback.
“I’ll keep an eye out, go ahead and talk,” Raymond reassured her, making sure the child wasn’t visible to anyone else.
The phone was set to a low volume, and Gabriela’s soft cooing was only audible when Eileen held it close.
Occasionally, Bryan’s hand would come into view, gently moving the phone away from Gabriela’s mouth.
“Bryan, aren’t you tired of this?” Eileen gently scolded him.
The banquet had just started, and she couldn’t spend the entire evening on the phone.
“Gabriela, your mommy doesn’t want to talk to you. She must prefer talking to Daddy,” Bryan teased playfully, continuing to provoke her.
He took the phone back, his eyes twinkling with mischief as he smiled, causing Eileen to laugh.
This small moment did not go unnoticed. On the third-floor balcony, two blonde, blue-eyed men observed the scene and snapped continuous photos.
“I recognize that man. His name is Raymond Brooks. He used to be the CEO’s assistant at Apex Group. Now, it seems he’s with Eileen,” one man remarked. “I’d bet the person she’s chatting with is none other than the former CEO himself.”
“Our boss has mentioned their close ties; they definitely keep in contact,” his companion added. “It was quite a surprise seeing her walk in—such a commanding presence, yet a simple video chat can make her seem like a teenager in love.”
Their conversation continued intermittently as they snapped photos, gathering intel for a report to the island.
Zola stepped off the elevator on the third floor and paused when she saw the two men near the railing. “Are you looking for me?” she asked cautiously.
