“Where the hell is he running to?” Josue snapped back to the present, grabbing his phone to call Dewitt. “Tell me his location. I will catch him this time!”
Before Raymond could intervene, Josue had already connected the call and blurted out, “Bryan located Coen. You guys better—What? You won’t capture him?”
Dewitt’s voice, tinged with an accent, echoed on the other end of the line. “Coen is defeated. His only allies now are criminals worldwide. We’re relying on him to draw out bigger fish…”
“Screw your plans!” Josue exploded. “He broke the law, and you know what he did to Bryan! Are you guys even human?”
Josue seethed with anger, yet Dewitt was unfazed, absorbing Josue’s outburst. Then, Dewitt spoke. “We’ve got a bead on Coen’s whereabouts. Once he leaves Linder Land, we’ll follow him. Edna and I will head back then.
Do you want to see Edna before we leave?”
The mention of Edna at such a tense juncture only escalated Josue’s fury.
“She’s in cahoots with you. I’m done with her! You two can go to hell!”
With that, Josue slammed the phone down, his breaths short and heavy with indignation.
Bryan grasped their strategy instantly, no explanations necessary.
Their primary mission was to dismantle the criminal networks. Casualties were a lesser concern.
However, Bryan was focused on a different aim—to eliminate any potential dangers.
He was determined to protect Eileen and Gabriela from ever enduring such threats, especially since there was a potent drug flowing through his veins.
He believed Coen would keep a stealthy watch over him. Regardless of whether the drug would ruin him, it could still spell trouble for Eileen.
After a moment of reflection, Bryan stood up. “Let’s head back.”
“Back to where?” Josue was quick to stand up as well. “The doctor suggested immediate hospitalization to monitor for any adverse effects.”
Hospitalization?
Bryan knew this meant he would have to confess to Eileen about the injected drug, exposing the grim possibilities that might lie ahead for him.
Bryan’s fists tightened.
After a while, he said, “Let’s keep it under wraps for now. Just give me three days.”
Ignoring the worry that creased Josue’s features, Bryan left.

“Mr. Dawson, what happened to you? Why do you need observation?” Raymond asked.
