Nearby, Josue and Jacob heard the commotion and rushed over, stunned by Eileen’s disheveled appearance.
Josue immediately moved to help her, asking, “Why do you have to go through this…?”

With a deep sigh, Josue said, “Let’s go back to the hotel for now.”

At the hotel, Josue paced back and forth across the room.

“Eileen finally found Bryan after searching for him for three months,” Josue said, sitting beside Jacob. His voice was filled with despair. “What do we do now?”

“But Bryan can’t go back with her. How can we convince her to give up?”
Jacob responded, “Go talk to her.”
“Stop!” Josue interjected bitterly. “In her eyes, I’m the villain. She won’t listen to a word I say now.”
Jacob sighed deeply, “I’ll go.”
He stood, left the room, and knocked on Eileen’s door before entering.
To his surprise, Eileen appeared composed. Her eyes were slightly swollen, but her face was dry—no traces of tears.
He took this as a positive sign, though his heart sank when he noticed the untouched dinner on the table. He sighed.
“There’s no need to sigh,” Eileen said calmly, though her voice carried a hint of sorrow. “Finding him is a blessing. I’m actually very content.”
She was quiet and despondent, her words tinged with sadness.
Jacob felt a pang of empathy. Bryan knew Eileen well. He must understand the pain she was enduring. What turmoil was Bryan experiencing now?
After a moment, Jacob spoke softly, “Eileen, just give up.”

Jacob continued, his voice full of concern. “You’ve seen Bryan’s condition. It’s not just bad—it’s terrible. He doesn’t want to remember anything from his past and resists anything related to it. If you continue pushing him, I fear it will only make things worse.”
When Eileen remained silent, Jacob added, “The doctors said his memory loss is due to extreme stress. If you keep pressuring him, it could be fatal.”
“Do you think I’ll make him die?” Eileen’s voice was quiet but filled with emotion.
Jacob started to reply, but she interrupted him, her tone steady but filled with sorrow.
