Chapter 570
Both Jacob and Josue waited for Bryan to decide. Continuing with their original plan would deeply hurt Eileen, but how could Bryan remain unaffected by that?
After a long pause, Bryan spoke slowly. “Find a way to make her leave.”
“She won’t leave!” Jacob nearly shouted, his frustration evident. “Don’t you see? You are her world!”
“I am fully aware of that,” Bryan replied firmly, his words leaving no room for doubt. “That’s why I want her to leave. Otherwise, having her watch me deteriorate… Do you think she would feel better then?”
They had reached an impasse.
The yard fell into an eerie silence.
Suddenly, the door swung open, and Zelda stepped outside. Noticing the three men, she hesitated before cautiously asking, “Is there anything I can do to help?”
“Yes,” Bryan responded. “Do me one last favor.”
In Onaland
The plane landed at Onaland Airport at two in the afternoon. Phoebe drove to pick up Eileen. When they met, Phoebe was visibly emotional, her eyes brimming with tears.
Phoebe rushed toward Eileen to hug her, accidentally knocking Eileen’s suitcase to the ground.
“I heard you found Bryan? Is he back with you?” Phoebe asked, glancing around the area behind Eileen.
Before her arrival, Eileen had only sent Phoebe her flight details, with no further explanation.
Thus, Phoebe arrived at the airport expecting to see a crowd, including Eileen, Bryan, and the others. Instead, she found only Eileen.
Seeing no one else with her, Phoebe released Eileen and immediately asked, “Where are they?”
Eileen retrieved her suitcase and responded, “They didn’t come back. Bryan doesn’t remember me. Everything that happened earlier upset him so much that he’s in a fragile state. Forcing him to return could make his condition worse…”
As she explained, she took Phoebe’s hand, and together, they began walking out of the airport.
Eileen appeared composed, but inside, she was filled with sorrow.
“I’ll be settling in Bayside City from now on,” Eileen said once they were in the car, buckling her seatbelt.
Phoebe, clearly taken aback, stared at Eileen and asked, “Settle in Bayside City? Are you planning to stay with him forever? What if he never regains his memory?”
“After searching for him for three months, I lost all patience,” Eileen replied. “Honestly, I almost believed he would never come back, but I needed to know if he was alive or dead. That kept me going. At one point, I thought that as long as he was alive, wherever he was, I would be okay with that, even if we couldn’t be together.”
Eileen hadn’t shared these feelings with anyone over the last three months, but now, she was opening up to Phoebe.
She continued, “But now, after learning he’s alive and has lost his memory, all I want is for him to come back to me. I want Gabriela to grow up with him around.”
Phoebe pulled out two tissues, wiped her own tears, and offered one to Eileen. “I support you! If Jacob gives you any trouble in Bayside City, just let me know…”
