“This is all your fault! You always side with Eileen!” Zola’s voice was filled with fury. “If it weren’t for that, I wouldn’t be in this mess. If things hadn’t turned out this way, I wouldn’t have hurt Bryan or become so heartless…”
“You’re being utterly unreasonable!” Milford exclaimed before grabbing his schoolbag and storming out.
The fact that his own sister had murdered their parents weighed heavily on Milford’s heart. He wheeled his bike to the park and sat there until midnight when the school was closed.
On her way home, Adalina noticed a familiar figure sitting in the park. She approached cautiously and recognized Milford.
“Milford, what are you doing here?” she asked.
As she got closer, she noticed several empty bottles scattered around him.
“Have you been drinking? How could you do this?” Adalina asked, her concern growing. Milford was clearly intoxicated, his face flushed from the alcohol.
“Let me take you home. You can’t just stay here like this,” she said gently.
“Just leave me alone. Please leave me alone,” Milford muttered, his voice filled with anguish. He longed to return to the time when he was with his grandmother—before the burden of his parents’ death and the truth about Zola had shattered his world. He had cherished the days when his grandmother would drop him off and pick him up from school, always cooking him wonderful meals…
Adalina, unsure of what to do, stayed quietly by his side, watching him in concern.
From a distance, Zola observed Adalina’s unexpected arrival, a smirk forming on her face. As she saw Milford collapse on the bench, she walked closer.
“Milford, wake up!” Adalina said, clearly distressed. She was considering calling Denzel for help when Zola approached.
“Are you one of his classmates?” Zola asked, her voice calm.

Adalina looked up and, recognizing Zola, said, “You’re…”
“I’m his sister,” Zola interrupted, her tone neutral. “He’s been under a lot of stress with school lately, and I haven’t been able to get through to him. Could you help me out and take him to a nearby hotel now?” Zola gestured towards the hotel by the road. “My place is quite far away, and his bike is still here. We can’t go back tonight.”
“Alright,” Adalina agreed without hesitation. She secured her bike and helped Zola guide Milford to the hotel.
Though it wasn’t a long distance, Milford was too heavy for Adalina to carry alone. Once inside the hotel, she gently placed him on the bed, then collapsed onto the edge of it in exhaustion.
Out of nowhere, a glass of water appeared in front of her. Adalina looked up to see Zola offering it.
“Thank you for helping me. Have some water,” Zola said, her voice surprisingly soft.
“Thanks, Zola,” Adalina replied, taking the glass. Sweat dripped from her as she drank, still trying to catch her breath. She watched as Zola carefully removed Milford’s shoes and made him more comfortable in bed.
After a brief rest, Adalina tried to get up to leave, but she suddenly felt lightheaded. Her vision blurred, and before she could steady herself, she collapsed onto the bed, losing consciousness.
After verifying the evidence, the police arrested Zola at midnight.
