Eileen’s curiosity about the truth only deepened. “If you don’t come clean, you won’t be able to leave here,” she said.
Denise leapt to her feet in a burst of rage. “What are you planning to do? Are you going to kill me here? Oh, think of it as having a heart attack! I’m dying! Someone, please help!”
Her outburst quickly brought the waiter into the room, who was worried that a death on the premises would harm their business.
Seeing this, Eileen grabbed her bag and left.
Dealing with someone as unreasonable as Denise was proving to be quite challenging.
The moment she stepped out of the coffee shop and into her car, Denise rushed outside, positioning herself in front of the car, declaring, “If you don’t hand over the money, you might as well run me over!”
Through the car window, Eileen and Denise locked eyes. With a frosty gaze, Eileen opened the door and stepped out. “You clearly don’t want to stay in Onaland anymore. Consider this: If Roderick found out you approached me, have you thought about what might happen?”
She was reluctant to inform Roderick because of his familial bond with Denise. However, Denise had crossed the line, leaving no reason for Eileen to hold back any longer.
“I’m not concerned with the consequences; I just want you to buy me a villa,” Denise perched herself on the hood of Eileen’s car and threatened. “Your wedding is tomorrow. You can waste all your time on me if you want to hold the wedding. Got nothing else to do anyway.”
She clearly wanted to pester Eileen until she agreed to buy her a villa.
As Eileen reached for her phone to call the police, Ruby emerged and yanked Denise off the car.
“Eileen, I’ll handle this. You should leave now!” Ruby said.
Denise and Ruby grappled, toppling to the ground in a chaotic struggle.
Worried that Denise might harm Ruby, Eileen felt compelled to intervene.
“Stop pretending to be the hero, Ruby! Get out of my way! Do you think I won’t make sure you miss the wedding tomorrow? Then, Eileen will have no one on her side at the wedding!” Denise clutched Ruby by the collar.
Ruby clung to Denise, disregarding her own injuries. “Even if I don’t attend, Bailee and Roderick will be there for Eileen. They’re her family. You don’t need to be concerned about that!”
“Let her go!” Eileen approached, grabbing Denise’s hands to assist Ruby. She then quickly pulled Ruby away from Denise.
Eileen decided to walk home instead of driving. The place was close enough to her house, and there was no point in getting entangled with someone like Denise.
“How could you do this to me? Look at this—my daughter is so ungrateful! She never takes care of me. Someone, please help me!” Denise lunged at Eileen, grabbing her leg and starting to cry loudly.
