Chapter 694
The sudden sound of a phone ringing almost caused Jacob to lose his grip on the wine bottle. He nudged Josue and whispered, “Next time, silence your phone before you come. If Bryan wakes up, you’re the one to blame.”
“It’s better he wakes up than not at all,” Josue replied as he picked up the call.
Raymond spoke urgently, “Mr. Payne, I need help! Ms. Curtis has gone to meet Brandon and Jonathan. Those scoundrels have set a trap at the Venezia Hotel!”
Josue’s expression turned grim instantly. He switched his phone to speaker mode and said as he slipped on his shoes, “Which room at the Venezia Hotel are they in? When did she head there? Why was she in contact with Brandon and Jonathan? Give me the details.”
Upon arriving at Bryan’s hospital room, Josue and Jacob removed their shoes and positioned themselves on either side of Bryan’s bed. After a brief moment, they quickly stood up and resumed their conversation while slipping on their shoes.
Raymond informed them that the core of the project had been stolen. In a flurry, Jacob and Josue laced up their shoes, grabbed their phones, and hurried out of the hospital.
In the sunlit room, the man lying on the bed suddenly scrunched his eyebrows and clenched his hands tightly.
At the Venezia Hotel…
When Eileen and her bodyguards arrived, they found the hotel completely empty of customers. Eileen realized she might have walked into a trap. Turning around, she saw two lines of suited bodyguards quickly blocking the hotel’s entrance. It became evident that the side and rear exits were similarly guarded.
Eileen’s bodyguards immediately sensed the danger and swiftly encircled her.
“Ms. Curtis,” one of them said.

“Since there’s no way out, I might as well head inside,” Eileen said, her voice calm. Trapped, she resolved not to show any fear.
This was likely the extent of what Brandon and Jonathan were capable of. After all, a defeat this time could cost them everything, with Brandon potentially facing life behind bars. Yet, since they had invited her here, it meant they had a purpose.
Eileen was then led by a waiter to the dining room on the top floor.
The expansive dining room was almost empty. Under the opulent, intricate lighting, the ambiance was lavish. The empty glasses caught the light from all around, shimmering brilliantly.
In the center of the room stood a large table, able to accommodate over a dozen people. Brandon and Jonathan sat there, appearing calm. Brandon had a serious yet eager expression, while Jonathan appeared smug.
“Hello, Eileen,” Jonathan said as he rose, casually shedding his woolen coat and letting it fall to the floor. His subordinate promptly scooped it up and stepped aside quietly.
Jonathan walked toward Eileen, surveying her from head to toe as he circled her. “I never noticed how stunning you are before. You weren’t this captivating back when you were Bryan’s special assistant.” He touched his forehead thoughtfully and continued, “Back then, you wouldn’t even dare to make eye contact with me. Now, your gaze resembles Bryan’s. Clearly, he taught you well.”
“Jonathan, are you aware that your Mueller family is in no position to cover the fines of economic offenses?” Eileen said, her voice cutting through the air.
