Chapter 726
Eileen found herself unable to muster a smile. She paused mid-step, her eyes wide with surprise.
“Eileen, what’s holding YOU up?” Noticing that Eileen was rooted to the spot, Gianna furrowed her brow. She hastened over and tugged Eileen toward Bryan.
“Your cousin’s here.”
Cousin?
Taking a deep breath, Eileen exchanged a look of confusion and surprise with Bryan when Gianna wasn’t looking.
Bryan gave Gianna a slight nod, then turned his smile to Eileen.
“Looks like Eileen’s still half asleep.”
“She just flew in yesterday. She might be exhausted,” Gianna explained, then gently squeezed Eileen’s hand. “Hey, your cousin traveled all this way with his child, and you’re letting them stay at a hotel instead of bringing them home?”
Eileen paused for a moment before playing along.
“He was fetching his luggage when you met me yesterday. I didn’t get a chance to invite him over.”
Gianna’s voice was tinged with frustration. “Oh, my mistake. I should have guessed someone came with you.”
She then noticed the luggage and stamped her foot. “I brought her back so quickly that she didn’t even have the time to take her luggage.”

“Ah, Ma,” Gabriela suddenly exclaimed, pointing at Eileen with wide eyes.
Unable to resist any longer, Eileen moved forward and lifted Gabriela into her arms, comforting her with soft, soothing words.
“Probably skipped breakfast to get here so early, didn’t you? Have breakfast here. And Mr. Dawson, please don’t feel out of place just because my husband and son have already left for work and there aren’t any other men around. Eileen’s here, and you’re welcome to make yourself at home.” Gianna extended the breakfast invitation to Bryan.
Bryan nodded and replied, “Thank you.”
Following that, Gianna asked Eileen to show Bryan to the dining room before she went to wake Leyla and bring her down for breakfast.
With Gabriela cradled in her arms, Eileen turned and headed for the dining room. She could hear Bryan’s familiar, steady footsteps closely behind her.
“This is quite a mansion, but I haven’t seen many servants here,” Bryan commented in a low voice, his eyes scanning the surroundings.
“Since my arrival, I’ve only encountered the cook and Tracey, who looks after my grandmother,” Eileen replied as she set Gabriela on the floor to explore the room.
Then, she turned abruptly and collided with Bryan’s solid, warm chest.
“What are you doing, ‘cousin’?” Placing a hand against his chest, Eileen tried to shove him back, but he didn’t budge. “I said, your cousin, Bryan. What will people say if they see us like this? Won’t they start gossiping?”
Bryan chuckled and gently pinched Eileen’s nose.
“Still upset about that? You’re the one who ditched us at the airport and came back by yourself, clearly wanting nothing to do with us.”
