After playing with her daughter and making her happy, Eileen went to the kitchen and encircled her arms around Bryan’s solid frame.
The sudden embrace startled Bryan, nearly sending his spatula clattering to the floor.
“Thank you,” Eileen murmured, nuzzling softly on his shoulder as she looked at his profile.
Bryan glanced at her, their eyes locking briefly before he asked bluntly, “You need something from me?”
“No,” Eileen replied, stepping back to face him, leaning against the cool counter. “We’re a couple. We are facing challenges together.”
A short, amused snort escaped Bryan’s lips. “You’re all about sharing the struggles, but never the good times.”
Eileen’s eyes widened in protest. “When have I ever shied away from sharing the good times?”
“At night,” Bryan continued to fry the steak, his tone taking on a serious edge. “I always make sure you’re comfortable, but you never return the favor.”
His physique had been undeniably impressive recently. After a year with no sex, he was clearly starved. And after the antidote had healed him, he had been draining all her strength! Eileen frowned, her hand instinctively rubbing her aching waist.
“There’s no need for you to make me comfortable. I don’t have strong needs.”
Bryan’s dark eyes suddenly fixed on her with an intensity that made her heart skip. “So, what does that mean? Have you lost interest in me?”
“Not exactly,” Eileen said carefully. “It’s like taking sleeping pills too often—they gradually lose their effectiveness.” She meant that the sex sessions had become routine.

Did she mean… she was tired of it? Or did he need to come up with new ideas in bed to keep her interested?
“I’ll have Raymond arrange everything for you this afternoon,” Bryan said, trying to mask his concern. “But you’ll need to follow my plans tonight.”
Eileen’s legs suddenly felt a bit weak. She met his gaze for a few seconds before reluctantly agreeing, “Alright.”
Remotely, Raymond first investigated the Vazquez family. Given the distance and his packed schedule, he could only dig up that Conroy had taken over as head of the Vazquez Group, with Kinsey as the vice general manager.
The Vazquez family’s company in Alverton was called VQ Group.
It made sense why Gianna felt comfortable letting Eileen head into the city without worrying about Eileen uncovering the link between VQ Group and the Vazquez Group.
Raymond wasted no time setting up a job for Eileen as an administrative assistant in VQ Group, starting the following day.
Bryan raised an eyebrow. “Are you really sure it’s smart to take on a low-profile job at VQ Group? What if someone recognizes you? Your role in helping Julio go back to the Freguari family and running EB Group and Apex is pretty well-known. Someone there might have seen your face before.”
Eileen shook her head. “This place is a long way from Onaland. Who would recognize me here? The photos in the news are outdated and barely resemble me. Even Conroy, my father, didn’t recognize me, so I seriously doubt anyone else will.”
