Thus, he said, “That’s just company-provided accommodation. Also, Mr. Yates has now delegated the project with Mr. Dawson to me. So, Mr. Dawson and I appear as equals. But please, don’t reveal our connection to Mr. Dawson.” He warned Eileen of potential issues in advance.
After listening to Conroy’s extensive explanations, Eileen realized that she would not act like she knew Conroy at Bryan’s place, nor would she suspect his role when she observed him conducting business with Bryan.
She suddenly felt that acting was really a daunting task. After listening to Conroy talk for a long time, she finally seized an opportunity to leave and returned to Bryan’s office.
“Mr. Dawson, please maintain a safe distance from me in Conroy’s presence. We also shouldn’t reveal that he heads the VQ Group. Otherwise, our charade can’t continue,” Eileen said as she settled on the sofa and entertained Gabriela. Glancing up at Bryan, who stood by his desk.

Bryan, however, accepted the substantial payment with ease. Staff from both the project and planning departments sought his decisions. For the most part, he worked remotely, managing tasks for the EB Group and the Apex Group from his computer.
“I’ve observed many attempts to conceal their identities, but it’s rare to see someone try to hide another’s identity,” Bryan remarked.
Eileen had never encountered such a situation before. Hearing the teasing tone in Bryan’s words, she grinned and said, “If I figure out whether Jessica is living with Conroy, I’ll have my answer. This won’t take long.”
“Now that Conroy is aware you’re moving next door, he’ll definitely be more cautious. I imagine if Jessica and Conroy are living together, they’ll try to cover everything before this afternoon,” Bryan said, finding it easy to predict Conroy’s next move.
Eileen understood this and felt a headache coming on.
“I refuse to believe I won’t uncover any clues,” she muttered.
At three in the afternoon, Bryan and Eileen left under the pretext of packing. However, they actually headed straight home. When they returned, Eileen noticed Jessica exiting a villa to the right with a suitcase, heading deeper into the villa area. Jessica seemed upset and was talking on her phone, oblivious to their passing car.
Eileen and Bryan stopped the car at the villa’s gate, got out, and watched as Jessica entered a villa on the street. Eileen then glanced to the left; that villa belonged to Kinsey. To the right was Conroy’s, and across the street was Jessica’s.
“By the way, have you ever met Kinsey’s wife?” Eileen whispered to Bryan as she entered the villa with Gabriela in her arms.
Bryan opened the door, ushering them inside, his hand resting gently on her jacket as he replied, “I hardly get to see my own wife, let alone someone else’s.”
