Chapter 759
Raymond had arrived with a spread from a five-star restaurant. Upon seeing Eileen, he greeted her, saying, “Mrs. Dawson.”
“You should call me Ms. Curtis. When others are around, you can simply call me Eileen,” Eileen replied. Raymond looked slightly startled. He hesitated even to address Gabriela by her first name, let alone call Eileen by hers.
He instructed the staff to arrange the dishes on the table and then had them leave. He stayed behind to welcome the guests. About ten minutes later, Conroy arrived with Kinsey and Jessica, bringing along many gifts and some children’s toys.
After some initial small talk, they all took their seats. Just as Eileen was about to sit next to Bryan with Gabriela in her arms, Jessica pulled at her sleeve.
“Just set the baby down, and I’ll look after her,” Jessica said.
Her implication was clear: she didn’t want Eileen sitting next to Bryan, nor did she want Eileen at the table.
“Come and sit here,” Bryan said as he pulled out a chair beside him and gave Eileen a look.
Jessica frowned and said, “Did you bring extra tableware, Eileen? If we need more bowls or plates, you can fetch them for us. Why should a nanny sit at the table?”
“Miss Marshall, no need to worry about that. The tableware is sufficient. If anything is needed, I can get it,” Raymond interjected just in time, defusing the tension.
Without waiting for Jessica to respond, Eileen had already moved to Bryan’s side with Gabriela in her arms and took a seat.
Gabriela resisted sitting in her baby seat, so Eileen continued to hold her.

Jessica, having no other option, reluctantly sat down beside Eileen and observed her discreetly. She noticed that Eileen was quite adept at taking care of the baby. Jessica had initially planned to find something Eileen had done wrong with Gabriela in order to ask Bryan to fire her. However, seeing Eileen’s capability, she realized she needed to rethink her strategy.
Despite Conroy’s outward calm, he felt uneasy in his heart. After a while, he noticed Eileen hadn’t revealed any personal connections between them. He also noticed Bryan had refrained from disclosing any ties between him and the VQ Group. He gradually became relieved.
Suddenly, Bryan asked, “Mr. Vazquez, I heard you’re married?”
Kinsey, who had been silent, responded, “Yes, I’ve been married for a couple of months now.”
“Why didn’t your wife join us tonight?” Bryan continued. “I also heard you’ve become a father. Maybe in the future, your wife could bring your child over to visit.”
Kinsey set down his fork and responded politely, “Thank you, Mr. Dawson. My son is just a few months old, and it’s quite chilly outside. My wife is taking care of him, so it’s hard for her to come out.”
Eileen felt a twinge of disappointment as she didn’t glean any insightful information from the exchange. After feeding Gabriela, who was satisfied, Eileen set her on the floor to play on her own and started eating.
But then, she suddenly sensed something was off. Looking up, she noticed Conroy and Kinsey staring at her. Pausing, she glanced down at the food on her plate. There was nothing unusual about it.
