Gianna went on to explain that Eileen’s job at VO Group was merely a coincidence. Gianna and Conroy exchanged a look before Gianna continued.
“Mom, while it’s true that Eileen is my sister’s biological daughter, I don’t believe she’s as simple as she seems.”
“What are you implying?” Leyla asked.
Gianna replied, “It seems like she believes the only valuable thing in the Vazquez family is the mansion. Just a few days ago, she inquired about the value of this old mansion and hinted that it might be worth selling. I don’t think she’s as naive as she appears. It seems like she’s keen on making money from selling the mansion.” Her voice came through the phone clearly, making Leyla’s eyes widen in shock.
It seemed that intentional misinterpretation could be this obvious at times.
“She’s quite greedy,” Conroy remarked. “Her focus has always been on money. She worked as a secretary in our company, but then, she became a nanny for the money. On top of that, she seems to have hidden agendas; she’s after Mr. Dawson.” He gave a brief overview of Bryan’s situation: he didn’t have a wife, only a baby daughter. The important thing was that he was wealthy.
Leyla listened in silence and then asked, “So, what exactly are you suggesting?”
“We’re concerned that Eileen is after the Vazquez family’s wealth,” Gianna said straightforwardly.
“But the Vazquez family’s wealth rightfully belongs to her,” Leyla countered. “You can’t just assume the Vazquez assets are yours because your sister is gone and Eileen was lost when she was a child. There’s no family rule that grants the fortune to a second daughter. Allowing Kinsey to use the Vazquez name is already a big concession.”

Gianna promptly answered, “Mom, Kinsey isn’t the issue. He married an older woman and has a child of his own. He hasn’t established any groups or alliances. Why are you still suspicious of him?”
Leyla gestured dismissively, not questioning him, but questioning what both of them intended to do. When Eileen returned, they had forced her into promising to keep the real situation about the Vazquez family hidden.
“Family under wraps. Now that I’ve verified Eileen’s integrity, why are you still alleging that she’s after the family’s assets? The reality is, she rightfully deserves the family wealth,” Leyla said, her voice calm but firm.
“Mom, we didn’t mean that,” Conroy responded, giving a slight nod and speaking with respect. “But Eileen wasn’t raised by her mother. Despite her Vazquez lineage, she lacks the family’s trademark sharpness and business savvy. If she were to take over the family company, she might ruin it.”
“Then, since you’re still young, it would be best to transfer the company to her soon. As her father, you can provide her with guidance on how to lead the company,” Leyla suggested nonchalantly.
Conroy averted his gaze, his brow deeply furrowed. After taking a moment to compose himself, he faced Leyla again and replied, “Mom, you’re oversimplifying the situation. There are many people in the company ready to exploit this opportunity. If Eileen assumes the role, she’ll encounter schemers attempting to create divisions among us, and she might not follow my guidance.”
Leyla, visibly irritated, interjected, “Enough of this. What exactly do you propose?”
