“I’m doing this because you owe me a child,” he declared, his tone serious, as if he truly expected her to give him a child.

Julio remained unmoved. Dalores mustered all her strength to push him away. She turned and locked eyes with Kinsey’s dark expression. She approached Kinsey, her posture rigid under the weight of Julio’s intense scrutiny.

“Mr. Ferguson, shouldn’t you explain this now?” Kinsey’s gaze bored into Julio.
Julio’s heart ached as he watched Dalores walk to Kinsey’s side, yet he kept his expression impassive.
“She slipped, and I helped her up. Is there a problem?” Julio said, his words clearly fabricated. But Kinsey, not wanting to ruin his relationship with Julio, suppressed his irritation.

“Drive carefully on your way back. I’ve finished what I came to do,” Julio announced, climbing into his car and pulling away.
“Dalores, have you forgotten what I warned you about?” Kinsey turned, his anger now directed at Dalores.
Dalores opened her mouth to speak, yet words failed her. Julio’s earlier statements were dangerously ambiguous.
Kinsey snatched the phone from Dalores’ hand and demanded, “Did you get this phone from Eileen just to contact Mr. Ferguson? Explain yourself. If you’re involved with him, I’ll let you be together!”
“No!” Dalores shook her head in panic. She couldn’t afford to cut ties with Kinsey. Without his financial support, she wouldn’t be able to provide for Emerson. Besides, even as Kinsey’s wife, she was already suffering from Julio’s pestering. If she left Kinsey, she believed Julio would only harass her more, risking the exposure of Emerson’s existence.
“Remember what you said. If there’s nothing between you and him, keep your distance,” Kinsey stated, his tone sharp. Despite sensing something amiss, Kinsey chose not to delve deeper and merely issued a warning. He returned the phone to Dalores before walking away.
Dalores stood frozen, torn between Julio’s unyielding pursuit and Kinsey’s stern ultimatums. She felt trapped in a dilemma. After a moment’s hesitation, she dialed Eileen for help.
