Kamila paused, taken aback. Instead of reacting with anger, she chuckled.
“What are you trying to do here?”
“I’m just protecting my rights and making sure no one will think I’m a pushover,” Eileen stated, leaning against the stall door.
Kamila, realizing Eileen wouldn’t let her shut the door, clenched her teeth and shot Eileen a fierce look.
“Keep dreaming. I don’t even have the jade seal on me. Wait and see.”
With that, she turned and walked away, her high heels clicking against the floor.
Eileen was well aware that Kamila couldn’t possibly conceal the jade seal on her. She was dressed simply in a gown, devoid of pockets or a bag. Thus, the trip to the restroom was likely just a ploy by Kamila to contact someone and figure out how to dispose of the jade seal her people possessed.
Eileen trailed behind Kamila on their way back. Throughout this time, Kamila didn’t even have the chance to make eye contact with anyone. When she sat down, her face was livid.
In a hushed tone, someone inquired, “What’s the matter, Mrs. Aston?”
Then, the person glanced at Eileen.
“It might be that her stomach pain has turned into a headache,” Eileen said with a smile.
“Stop talking. Just wait,” Kamila snapped, glaring at the person.
The person fell silent.
As soon as Eileen returned to Bryan’s side, something was discreetly pressed into her hand. She glanced at Bryan, taken aback. He had a somewhat casual and aloof demeanor, watching the frisking of the guests with an impassive expression.

About ten minutes later, most of the guests had been searched, except for a group of distinguished ladies clustered around Terrell. These women, wives of affluent men, held a status that was evidently higher than the others. Publicly searching them would certainly cause embarrassment. Therefore, the Byrd family’s servants couldn’t conduct the searches.
Eileen turned toward Terrell and inquired, “Mr. Byrd, would it be appropriate for me to conduct the searches?”
“Absolutely,” Terrell replied with a relieved smile.
Though he risked offending some, no one could object since it was Eileen’s jade seal that was missing. It made sense she would be conducting the search herself.
“Ladies, I apologize for any offense. If I wrong any of you, please forgive me. I promise to visit you and apologize personally at a later time,” Eileen said while approaching the group of women.
Her polite demeanor and respected status among them meant the women would not challenge her.
Unperturbed, Kamila leaned forward and said, “What good does your visit do, Eileen? We’ve been humiliated here today. How does your apology alone help?”
“How would you like me to apologize then?” Eileen asked.
