Then, she quietly followed Leyla in her own car.
As she was en route, Bryan called, prompting her to finally remember to inform him about this.
“My grandmother is returning to the Vazquez Mansion, and I’m concerned someone might cause trouble for her. I’m following her; I can’t let her go back by herself.”
“You don’t need to find such an excuse to leave me,” Bryan replied coldly. “I can understand how you feel. After all, we are the same type of people.”
Eileen was a bit confused by Bryan’s words, but she still said, “Please look after Gabriela well in the coming days. I’ll return as soon as I can.”
She knew that even if the issue was resolved tonight, Leyla’s physical state meant she couldn’t return tomorrow; she would need to stay in the Vazquez Mansion for at least three days to allow Leyla to rest.
By the time they reached the Vazquez Mansion, it was already ten o’clock in the evening. Once Leyla was ushered into the mansion by the servants, Eileen proceeded to the parking area near the gate, where she noticed a strange vehicle with a Linder Land license plate.
The license plate suggested powerful connections, reserved only for those with significant influence in the government. Was the Vazquez family now in some sort of predicament?
After hesitating briefly, Eileen noticed that the previously dim mansion was now ablaze with lights. She parked her car, unfastened her seat belt, and quickly entered the mansion.
The pathway lights in the yard were on, and she could glimpse several figures through the open door. Leyla was seated on the sofa across from the door, and a man stood with his back to it. As Eileen edged closer, she overheard the ongoing conversation.

“The Vazquez family is well-regarded in Alverton. That’s why the head of my family previously verbally agreed to a deal with your daughter, Dottie,” the man said. His voice was firm, suggesting he was in his forties. He maintained an upright posture as he took a seat.
Across from him, Leyla wore a gentle smile. “I apologize. Your agreement was indeed made verbally with my daughter. I am aware of it, but I do not have the authority to enforce it.”
“So, you intend to renege on the agreement?” The man’s tone was clearly displeased.
Leyla paused for a few seconds before responding uncertainly, “I didn’t make the agreement with—”
“Enough!” The man abruptly rose and knocked a cup off the table. The hot water inside the cup cascaded over the edge, and Leyla couldn’t move away in time. It splashed onto the back of her hand.
Leyla trembled. Promptly, a servant rushed over to check on her.
“The head of my family insists that everything proceed as initially agreed. In three days, I expect you to bring your granddaughter to the Vazquez Mansion to meet us.” With that, he turned and exited.
Several bodyguards, clad in suits and polished shoes, followed him.
Eileen swiftly concealed herself behind a door pillar. Once the man and his people had departed, she entered the mansion.
“Eileen, why are you here?” Leyla let out a sigh and got up the moment she saw Eileen. She glanced outside, quickly ushered her into the room, and shut the door.
