“Get in the car. I’m taking you home,” Shaun said.
Halsey tried to refuse. “I can go home by myself.”
Shaun grabbed her wrist, opened the passenger door of the luxury car, and gently but firmly pushed her inside.

The maid quickly came over. “Ms. Mallin, Mr. Lane.”
Halsey said, “I’m going upstairs to take a shower first.”
Without waiting, she left Shaun behind and headed upstairs.
She went into her room, took a bath, and then came out. She pulled out the oil the doctor had given her and began applying it all over her body.
Elise was younger than her, and although Halsey was confident in herself, she didn’t want pregnancy to ruin her figure or cause stretch marks. Even while pregnant, she wanted to look beautiful.

She stretched her hand behind her, but couldn’t quite reach.
Then there was a soft “click” as the door suddenly opened and someone stepped inside.
Halsey immediately lay down carefully, placing a pillow beneath her so she wouldn’t put pressure on the baby.
“Jocelyn, come help me put the oil on my back,” she called out.
Shaun froze at the door.
It wasn’t the maid who came in-it was him.
He hadn’t left. When he came in, he saw Halsey lying on the lounge chair. He wanted to leave, but Halsey seemed to need help.
Shaun glanced behind him, and Jocelyn was nowhere to be found.
Halsey called again, “Jocelyn, come help me! I can’t reach my back.”
Shaun extended his legs forward and walked in.
Halsey had just showered and was wearing a nightgown. The tie at the back wasn’t fastened, revealing a broad stretch of smooth, delicate skin. Shaun’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he gulped.
The nightgown was short, showing off her two pale legs. The room smelled sweet from her fresh bath, a scent that was quietly tempting.
Halsey didn’t realize it was Shaun. She passed the oil to him. “Put this on my back.”
She lay down again.
Shaun picked up the oil. Not having done this before, he awkwardly squeezed some into his palm and rubbed it between his hands. Then his large hand rested gently on Halsey’s back.

“Go lower and help me rub some oil there,” Halsey murmured.

Shaun’s gaze followed the curve of her slender waist disappearing beneath the nightgown. He thought he caught sight of pale purple lace panties.

“Jocelyn? Did you hear me?”
Halsey felt something was off. Jocelyn hadn’t made a sound the whole time.
