Sierra was elated,andthe first person she thought of was Jonathan.
Instinctively, she pulled out her phone to share the good news with Jonathan, but as she was about todial, she remembered the current state of their relationship. Her smile faded, and she slowly put thephoneaway.
Stepping out of the research institute, her sense of loss hadn’t faded when, unfortunately, Kason appeared.
“Sierra!” Kason approached with a bouquet of roses,exuding a polished air.
Seeing him, Sierra reflexively gagged, her mind filled with images of Kason’s repulsive white flesh and his deeds.

Kason almost blurted out that he indeed had found something amusing; he had discovered a new ‘toy‘ that could really takeabeating, fiery and with a delightful scream.

Sierra looked up tiredly and said pointedly, “I hope it’s genuinely interesting and not just minor trouble like before.”
“Of course not! Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!” Kason assured her earnestly.
