“Trev–where is he?” Johnathan asked, his voice cold and tight.
Maddox pressed his lips together. “Downstairs.”
Johnathan turned, ready to go down and finish what he’d started–but Sierra stepped in front of him. She knew exactly what he was planning to do.
“Can I handle this?” she asked.
Johnathan gave a small nod. Sierra then turned to Maddox. “Maddox, is the Treno family handing him over to us?”
“…Yes,” Maddox replied quietly.
“Good. Then let him face the consequences of what he’s done,” Sierra said, locking eyes with Maddox. “Yesterday wasn’t the first time, was it? He’s probably done things like this before. I want him properly tried.”
If Johnathan dealt with Trev, the outcome would be brutal–crippling, even. That would serve as justice for her.
But not for the others.
The women Trey had hurt before never saw justice. If she let Johnathan take matters into his own. hands, she’d just be making it about herself.
No. This time, she wanted fairness–for everyone.

Maddox hadn’t expected Sierra to take this route. He froze, then frowned. “Are you sure?”

“He deserves to be punished,” Maddox said quietly.

Relieved that Maddox held no resentment, Mateo relaxed.
