Chapter 204
204:
He observed the household staff gathered around, each quickly defending themselves, insisting they were not responsible.
Brenna said, “Dalton’s right. Why don’t we review the surveillance footage to see who actually went into your room?”
Rachael, the maid in charge of Rosie’s quarters, hurriedly interjected, “Miss Rosie, I assure you everything was in order when I cleaned this morning. It wasn’t me. Please believe me.” She looked at Rosie with pleading eyes.
Rosie nodded and said, “I trust you, Rachael.”
However, Rachael’s words made Rosie hesitate. If the clothes were intact that morning, it couldn’t have been Brenna, since they had both been home then and nearly left together. Rosie had changed clothes before they both left, and everything was normal at that time.
Rosie then turned her scrutiny to the remaining staff and asked, “Who else has been in my room today?”
The servants exchanged puzzled looks after Rosie erupted in fury, each instinctively shaking their heads in denial.
Rosie, furious, pointed at the servants and shouted, “I’m going to review the security tapes now! Anyone caught sneaking into my room will be fired immediately! This is a betrayal of the trust the Harper family has placed in you!”
The servants exchanged worried glances, firmly denying any involvement, puzzled about who would risk their job by ruining Rosie’s clothes.
At the edge of the group, Julia appeared noticeably uneasy, trying to blend into the background to avoid attention.
She then brought a tray of fruit and juice into Brenna’s room.

Ethan stood casually in the middle of the room, one hand in his pocket and the other holding his phone as he responded to a message.
Julia’s eyes lingered on Ethan, captivated by his striking features and composed demeanor. She softly announced, “Mr. Mitchell, your refreshments.”
Without looking up from his phone, Ethan acknowledged with a brief “Thanks.”
As Julia hesitated at the doorway, Brenna returned, dressed casually in a T-shirt and denim shorts, her demeanor relaxed. Ethan’s eyes brightened at the sight of her. Despite the simple outfit, she looked striking.
“You look great,” he said.
Julia paused before leaving, voicing her concern, “Miss Brenna Harper, Miss Rosie Harper is reviewing the surveillance footage right now.”
Brenna smiled calmly, “No worries; I’ve taken care of it. The footage won’t reveal anything. Just stay composed and avoid drawing attention.”
Julia’s anxiety was evident, her voice tinged with uncertainty as she said, “Are you sure that will work?”
Despite Brenna’s unassuming appearance, her confidence hinted at a deeper capability not immediately obvious.
Ethan glanced at Brenna with surprise, then turned to Julia and reassured her, “Trust in Brenna’s skills. She’s more tech-savvy than people give her credit for. Even the security staff in my company might not notice anything.”
