Chapter 150
Chapter 150:
“Why don’t you sit down? I’ll get us something to drink.” I kissed his forehead, and he nodded, taking a seat on the living room sofa. His hands rested in his lap as he sat upright, his eyes never leaving me. He was watching me closely, as if trying to read my thoughts.
I poured some rum and added coke, lime juice, and ice cubes for him. I knew I needed something stronger for the conversation, so I took a shot straight before making another glass of rum and coke for myself. I brought the two glasses over and handed one to Remy before sitting beside him, slowly sipping from my own.
“I met with Zal. Oscar was taken from his apartment. Yes, Oscar, as in my ex,” I said, taking another sip of my drink. Remy hesitated before drinking from his glass. I could tell he needed it.
“Oh…” Remy responded softly.
“Remy…” I began, but he cut me off.
“No, no… it’s okay. I know that you love me, and I understand Oscar needs your help. I’m okay with that.” He said, his words trying to reassure me, but I could see his shoulders tense. Read full story at.net
The change in his body language was subtle, but I caught it. I knew I had hurt him, and I hated myself for saying what came out of my mouth next.
“I also need to come clean with you,” I continued. “Zal told me that Oscar is still in love with me.
They fought the day he was taken; they broke up. And I’m telling you that I still have feelings for Oscar.” There.
The bomb was dropped. I didn’t want to tell him, but I couldn’t keep this from him either. I loved him, and I didn’t want to cheat on him.
“Feelings? Do you still love Oscar?” Remy’s voice wavered with hesitation, as if he was afraid of the answer.
“I love you, Remy,” I said, my heart aching. “And there’s nothing I won’t do for you.” I hesitated, unsure whether my words would offer the comfort I hoped for. “Right now, Oscar needs saving, and I will bring him here to heal once we get him. I don’t trust my men to keep him safe; after you were abducted and now Oscar… Please, I just need you to trust me, baby p>
The moment I said Oscar would be brought here, I saw Remy’s eyes lose focus. He looked away, and I could already feel the distance beginning to form between us. But the stubborn side of me kept pushing.

“From the video sent to us, he looked badly injured. I really don’t know how bad it’s going to be, but Remy, I need you to be okay with this p>
I knew it was a sleazy move because Remy was too sweet to say no to helping someone in a bad situation.
“To be okay with you bringing your ex here to stay with us p>
“I… yeah, I know it’s shitty of me to even ask you this p>
“Hey, it’s your place,” he muttered carelessly before finishing off his drink in one gulp.
“Baby,” I said softly, taking Remy’s glass and setting it aside. My hand gently caressed his neck, tracing his flawless skin until I cupped his jaw. “Will you believe that I love you? I would never lie to you.
This is why I’m telling you all of this p>
I knew about Remy’s past; we’d talked about it, and I was well aware that his heart had been broken too many times before. As much as I tried to avoid it, I knew I was about to deliberately break his heart again.
“Remy, say something,” I urged, my heart pounding from the weight of the silence.
After what felt like an eternity, he finally spoke.
