Chapter 207
Chapter 207:
“Boss, how are you p>
“Better now that you’re here.
Thank you for the coffee p>
“It’s your favorite, though I’m still pissed at you for leaving me to clean up your mess when you eloped with your hot boyfriend p>
I wanted to laugh at her bravery in criticizing her boss, my Oscar.
Though I knew she was doing it because she cared about him. Just like how she cared enough to bring him coffee and show me that she was upset with me for not giving her the same treatment.
“And as for you, young man, if you love your husband, I expect you to take care of him p>
“Yes, ma’am.” I smiled sweetly at the older woman and decided to leave them to discuss what needed to be discussed.
“Oscar, I need to make a few phone calls. You’re free to use my office to work. Remind me to set up your home office for you so you can talk to Ms. Felicity more comfortably p>
My words seemed to make her feel better, and Oscar must’ve noticed it too, because he looked at me and smiled back before silently mouthing a thank you. I winked at my husband and walked toward our bedroom.
I decided to call Ghazi and follow up on things. I was so ready to take my new husband on a well-deserved honeymoon.
The man looked so damn tired.
“Zal, I was just about to call you. Do you have Oscar with you p>
“Yeah, why?” I knew instantly something was wrong. So, I headed out the door, trying to see if Oscar was still in my home office with Felicity. I relaxed a bit when I opened the door and found them deep in conversation.
“Don’t let him out of your sight. I just got word that the people we outbid on our last project are not happy with the result, and the man is looking for blood. Chip said he recognized one of them wandering around the basement parking lot of your apartment building. I want to move you to our safe house. Remy and I are already p>
On our way to another location after our little scare this morning, Ghazi called. “Pack a bag. Looks like you got your wish: an impromptu, longer honeymoon in a secluded area.” I could practically hear him smirking. Only he would classify bugging out as a sexy getaway. Fresh chapters posted on.net
“Just let me know the details. I trust you’ll provide us with the best honeymoon suite p>

Yeah, Ghazi owned several safehouses, though I knew some of them were occupied. He was the one person who knew the situation with his properties. Hell, I don’t keep track of everything he owned, or the properties he had seized.
The man had a couple of seedy law firms doing his illegal bidding.
I’d spent years with Ghazi and knew he took care of his people. I knew he’d do anything to keep me safe—and now Oscar too. Not just because he was Ghazi’s ex, but because he was my husband. Someone who could get hurt now that everyone knew he was mine.
I didn’t want to think about it.
The man loved me as I loved him, and I’d do anything to keep him safe. But I knew deep down that letting him go was the safest choice. Yet I was too selfish to let him go. Just thinking about another man touching him made my fingers itch for my gun.
I sat in the living room, having quickly packed our go-bag and added more clothes just in case.
Though we could always get naked, I knew we’d need clothes if we had to run.
“Hey,” Oscar greeted me after showing Felicity out the door.
