Chapter 46
Chapter 46:
“You should go, we’ll talk tomorrow,” I told Zal, and he nodded. He had things to do, and I knew he was already impatient to bring his men and tear down the clubhouse.
“How? Why? Ghazi…are you okay?” Oscar looked pale. His hand was shaking when he reached me, placing my ruined suit jacket on the dining table. His eyes grew glassy when he saw my shirt stained with blood. One sleeve was torn, just to make it easier to tend to the wound.
The bandage was fresh, but I could tell it wasn’t just about how I was treated. It was something else entirely—Oscar seemed frozen in place.
“Baby, hey, I’m okay.” I pulled him into a hug, and he stiffened.
“Y-yeah… I, we… we should get you cleaned up p>
He didn’t ask how I got hurt, or why, but I knew his mind was racing through all possible scenarios. It kept him busy as he carefully led me into the ensuite bathroom and stripped me down before taking me into the shower.
“Oscar, love, you should take off your clothes.
They’re getting wet p>
“Oh yeah, you’re right,” he smiled, but it was a robotic response that made my heart ache for him. I didn’t want him to worry about me, and it hurt seeing him like this.
“Oscar, I’m okay. It’s a bullet wound. It nicked an artery, which is why there was so much blood. But the doc is the best—I’ll be all good in a couple of days. It didn’t go deep enough to shatter any bones. Oscar, look at me, baby,” I lifted his chin, forcing him to meet my eyes. “I’m okay. I will be okay p>
“You’re okay. Okay,” he sighed, but he shattered a second later when I pulled him into my arms. He sobbed, holding me tightly, his clothes soaking wet under the shower.
I turned off the shower and stripped off his already drenched clothes. Oscar kept looking at me, his eyes lingering on my wounded arm, though I could tell he was trying to stay strong.
This was what I loved about him—he could be fearless in the business world, but with me, he was so fragile that I wanted to wrap him in a protective bubble.
Oscar had come to learn that I had a dangerous side, and to this day, he was still trying to accept that it was part of me. “I don’t like seeing you like this,” he whispered, his voice breaking, but he kept himself busy as he washed the blood off my body.

It didn’t take long before he announced that I was clean. “You should get comfortable in bed. I’ll bring your dinner here. Did… did the doc give you any pain meds?” he asked while toweling me dry and helping me into my sweatpants. He didn’t bother with underwear. “They’re in my suit jacket p>
“Okay, get under the covers,” he tucked me in and kissed my lips so quickly that I barely felt it. ɪꜰ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀɴᴛ ᴛᴏ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs, ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴇ ᴠɪsɪᴛ ͟.net
Oscar went into the walk-in closet and came out wearing his pajama pants and one of my old t-shirts. It had become his favorite, and I liked how it looked on him. He walked straight out of the master bedroom and returned with what was supposed to be our dinner.
“Put it on the side table,” I said.
“Ghazi, you should eat. I brought you your pills,” he insisted.
“Oscar, this isn’t my first rodeo. Put the food on the side table. Now.” I waited until he did as he was told. “Sit on my lap p>
“No, you’re hurt,” he protested.
“My arm is injured, yes, but my legs are perfectly fine,” I muttered before continuing, “Get naked and straddle me p>
“Ghazi,” he hesitated.
