Nicole was protecting Lila with her words.
Stefan got up, his posture straight and his demeanor commanding. He had the dignity of the head of the family.
“Nicole, you have lived for so many years. Why are you still so naive? With our identity, feelings can’t last long. Now that your company is in crisis, isn’t it better to have someone that can bring you benefits?
“You should consider my suggestion. You can give me your answer in a few days.” When Stefan was about to leave, he added, “But I don’t know if Morgan Group can even survive the next few days.”

“Stefan wants to form marital ties, doesn’t he?”

Lila blinked. “He wants Kieran and Ms. Moore to get married, right?”

“Lila, don’t think about it too much. I didn’t agree. Kieran wouldn’t agree either. We’re a family.” Nicole held Lila’s hand tightly, trying to comfort the latter.

Lila nodded and patted Nicole on the back of her hand. “Aunt Nicole, I understand: You need to rest more and recuperate. You don’t need to worry about us. I just accepted a new movie. I’ll be busy starting tomorrow, so I won’t have the time to visit you. You must take your medicine.”
Nicole nodded. She was afraid that Lila would overthink and be sad, but she didn’t know how to comfort the latter.
It was a good thing that Lila would be busy. At least she wouldn’t have the time to think about it if she was busy.
Nicole thought that she and Alfredo had let down Lila and Kieran. How did the situation end up this way?

the words. She repeated this over and over again. Kieran saw that she was typing but didn’t send a
message. Was the internet bad or did she have many things to say to him?
