“Do you know why Kieran went abroad this time?” Faith asked.
Lila shrugged. “I don’t.”
“Being strong protects us from being bullied, but being too strong also makes others wary.” Faith’s voice was gentle.
She continued, “Morgan Group has been on Falkoria’s watchlist for a long time. Now that they’ve found an opportunity, they want to seize everything he owns overseas in one swoop. And they’re not even playing fair. They’re just outright robbing him.

Lila lowered her eyes and chuckled. “Then you should be talking to him, not me.”
Faith nodded. “You’re right. And I did speak to him. But he turned me down.”
“Then coming to me won’t help. I can’t change his mind.” And there was something else Lila left unsaid. She wouldn’t force Kieran to do things he didn’t want to.
Faith remained composed. “Don’t be so quick to reject me. At least hear me out first.”
Lila nodded, so Faith continued. “The other day, you asked me if I ever had a chance to break free from the Moore family.
“I went back and thought about it carefully. The truth is, I did have a chance. But I missed it because of my hesitations.
“I agree with what you said. The situation I’m in today is my fault. So this time, I won’t let the opportunity slip away again.”
Lila’s expression remained unreadable.
Faith finally said, “That day, I proposed to Kieran to have a fake marriage. If he agrees, the Morgans and the Moores will help him resolve this crisis. In return, he helps me gain independence from my family.”
Lila’s brows furrowed. “A fake marriage?”
“Yes. I don’t want to be the Moore family’s puppet anymore. “That’s exactly why Falkoria is trying to eliminate him now. They know they’ll have no way to contain him if Kieran survives this.”
Lila knew this too. But those were problems for the future. It was more important to solve the current crisis.
Faith took out a business card and placed it on the table. “Call me when you’ve thought it through.”
