Jessica lay back comfortably, reflecting on her situation. Perhaps Annalise’s luxurious life wasn’t as enviable as it seemed.
After crunching the numbers, Jessica realized her net profit margin was around 50% once production costs and shipping expenses were accounted for. Annalise, on the other hand, likely saw only about 15%. Jessica was earning more than double. It dawned on her that financial independence tasted sweeter than she’d ever imagined.

Their recent conversations had been strained after Jessica upset Casper a few days ago. Since then, his responses had been curt and infrequent.

Upon arrival, Casper found Eric waiting for him at the entrance.
Then, Eric led the way, explaining, “Your office has been prepared, and the other employees’ workspaces are ready too. They’re all here today. I’ll introduce you.”
As Casper followed, he noticed that Eric seemed different from others—perhaps more independent.
Stopping at the open office area, Eric informed him, “These employees were specifically hired for your project. The company handles their salaries, so you needn’t worry about that. If you have any tasks to assign, now’s a good time. They’re all highly capable and have led projects in their previous roles.”
Surprised, Casper asked, “Then why did they join the company?”
Eric politely explained, “Some companies prefer younger employees. Our company offers good benefits and is inclusive, welcoming both fresh graduates and experienced professionals.”
Casper nodded in understanding. Noticing the attentive faces in the office, he began outlining his needs.

Eric’s expression softened slightly as he replied, “No need for formalities. We’re all partners here.”
Eric then guided Casper through the company’s layout, eventually bringing him back to his office. “Is there anything else you need to know?”
Casper shook his head. “Not at the moment. I’ll ask if something comes up later. Is that all right?” “Of course,” Eric replied before leaving.
Casper sat at his desk, taking in his surroundings. The office was spacious and had broad swaths of sunlight to pour in during the day, giving the room a warm, inviting atmosphere.
