Chapter 574
Steven could tell that Jessica was concerned for the baby. At the thought of how his child might end up in the state that Jessica described, Steven felt upset. At the same time, he thought of Zachary. Ever since the last conversation with Zachary ended on a bad note, Steven stopped sending money. Steven also stopped paying Harry his salary.
Then, he wondered if Zachary was paying Harry. However, Zachary was a child. Where would he find the money to do so?
Steven felt as if his brain had stopped working. After a long pause, he finally said, “I understand. But Jessica, I just had some drinks, and my brain is a mess. I can’t think of so many things. Let’s talk after I’m sobered up.” “Okay,” Jessica said woefully. After hanging up, she gazed at the phone screen with a meaningful expression on her face.
Now that Steven had parted ways with Zachary if Steven was still fertile, he could find another woman to bear his child even after discovering that it was not his baby. The only way for Steven to become dependent on the child that Jessica conceived was to make sure that this would be his only child for the rest of his life.
Jessica couldn’t help but smirk. She formulated a plan, and she was ready to propose it to Steven tomorrow. Jessica knew that Steven and Chloe would not agree to her suggestion, but it didn’t matter. She had many ways to convince them both.
After moving into Yvonne’s house, Shane felt like he was in a dream. As his eyes fell on Yvonne, Shane thought she really loved him. After all, if it weren’t for love, she wouldn’t allow an unfamiliar man to move into her house. However, Shane thought the house was too small. As he looked around the house with a frown, Shane thought Yvonne’s house couldn’t even measure up to his closet. He wondered how anyone could live in a place like this. Shane asked, “Do you live in this tiny house every day?”
Yvonne thought that a rich man like Shane, who was accustomed to living in a mansion, wouldn’t like her tiny house. She said eagerly, “Yeah!”
“He must be uncomfortable living here. He’ll ask to move out, right?” Yvonne thought happily.
However, Shane took a deep breath and tried to convince himself. He had nowhere else to go, and having a place to stay was more than he Could ask for.
Shane sat on the couch and said, “In that case, I guess I’ll have to make do and live here for a short while.”
When Yvonne heard that, she stared
at Shane in disbelief. She couldn’t understand why he was
compromising; if he had to make do, he could just leave to find a better place!
Yvonne silently criticized Shane in her mind but refrained from actually saying anything out loud. Shane politely remarked, “Your house is very neat and cozy. I can tell that you have very good taste.” Yvonne was so baffled that she almost laughed. She responded, “Thank you for the compliment.” Shane answered nonchalantly, “You’re welcome.”
Even though Yvonne was set on taking advantage of Shane, she

rolling her eyes. Yvonne got up and headed to the kitchen.
Working at Huxham Corporation meant Yvonne could get off work early every day. Because of that, she developed the habit of cooking dinner at home. Shane followed her to the kitchen and asked, “Do you need me to do anything?”
Hearing that, Yvonne turned around and looked at Shane. If she let Shane live at her house for free, he might just fall in love with the place.
After giving it some thought, Yvonne asked, “Do you know how to cook?”
By suggesting that Shane help with chores, Yvonne hoped he would prefer living elsewhere and eventually decide to move out.
