Chapter 645
But just then, music began playing from a vintage record player, and all the other NPCs surprisingly paired up in five teams and started waltzing to the music.
It was at this point that it occurred to Ellie that the NPCs, instead of numbering up to twelve to signify the twelve hours on the clock face, were actually only eleven.
Apparently, she was meant to be the twelfth!
Kaiden had planned this all along!
With Tchaikovsky’s “Waltz of the Flowers” playing in the background, Ellie stepped onto the giant stones of the engraved clock face. The setting sun and tranquil horizon provided a wonderful backdrop, making the moment feel as though time had come to a halt. Ellie couldn’t find the words to describe how she felt. Her heart was brimming with emotions, threatening to spill over at any moment.
Ellie gently placed her hand in Kaiden’s, her eyes lighting up with a smile.noveldrama
“Do you know how to dance?” she asked, recalling his years of pretending to be disabled.
Kaiden wrapped his right arm around Ellie’s waist confidently. “We’re about to find out.”
Ellie, who had been taught the waltz from a young age as part of her upbringing in high society, noticed that Kaiden’s steps were a bit awkward, probably due to a quick lesson he’d taken.
However, his confidence and charm made even his clumsy steps look graceful.
Kaiden whispered, ensuring only Ellie could hear him, away from the microphone and the live audience.
The audience, however, was quick to jump to conclusions.
“Is it just me, or does this dashing NPC have a connection with Ellie?”
“Look at the way he gazes at her! Ahhh! My heart can’t handle it!”
“He’s just a character in the game. Remember, Ellie is a married woman.”
“When I see Ellie dancing with another man, I think it shows that she’s not faithful.”
“Are you insane? Stop with the sexist comments.”
“Still, they do make a stunning pair on the screen.”
“Ellie is stunning when she dances with this NPC!”
“I just hope her husband isn’t watching this…”
The broadcast segment featuring Ellie ended with the waltz.
After the camera was turned off, Kaiden took off his mask and gently kissed her, starting at the corner of her mouth, then her lower lip, clearly wanting more.
Looking deeply into Ellie’s eyes, he said, “I hope you enjoyed that, Mrs. Thorpe.”
He was referring to the elaborate surprise he had planned for her. Ellie, with cheeks tinged pink, gently pushed him away, hinting that they were not alone.
Even though the live broadcast had ended, there were still people around.
The crew and the NPC were left speechless.
Indeed, the two of them were not alone!
